Works Great in Dell E510 November 11, 2009 Gearhead (FL) A pair of these were installed a couple months ago in a Dell E510 and it works fine. It was easy to install by following the install instructions at Dell. You open the clips on the memory slot, push the memory into place until the clips click, you are done.
Install in pairs if you have a dual core processor. The Dell site identified the correct memory slots to use for upgrade.
It seems to work, but my motherboard may be the problem. October 19, 2009 Just Gary (San Antonio, TX) I bought and installed four of these 1GB chips into my computer, which has an ABIT AA8 motherboard. I replaced 2 512MB chips. The new memory has really made my computer faster as the more complicated programs do not have to use the hard drive for memory storage. However, I cannot rate this a 5 star because my board says I have 3.4 GB of memory, not 4GB. I have not yet figured out if the problem is the motherboard or maybe one of the chips, but I do not get any error code and the computer works fine. Still, the lack of 4GB makes me wonder, since this particular memory chip was recommended by the motherboard manufacturer.
Memory... October 12, 2009 R. Rynkowski (Hampstead, Md.) After struggling to install this memory with big hands in a tight space(under the disc drives on an HP computer). It finally recognized the memory. There really wasn't much of an increase in speed or performance that could be recognized with a WOW but more like an OK. I guess I could have saved some money and been satisfied with OK.
Works Great @ Good Price October 1, 2009 Patrice Hunt The ram stick works great, made my computer run much better and was easy to install.
You can't get better than that!
Crucials drop-down boxes are NOT always right! September 23, 2009 Richard Rozek (Chicago, USA) I've read in several places that Crucial memory is some of - if not, the best memory you can buy. Especially regarding the system I purchased - only Crucial was recommended for this Everex Desktop that I picked-up for use with my Linux Operating Systems. So since it was a Linux desktop, I couldn't use the Crucial automatic memory finder software. I opted to use the drop down boxes. I picked it all right, They said I needed 240-pin, DDR2 PC2 - 5300. O.k., I orderd two for my Everex Desktop with the gPC2 system. It came quick, I'll grant them that, but - but, it did not work! So I went over to Arch Memory and used the same kind of drop down box system, and Arch Memory said, Everex uses a special chip so if you find it cheaper elsewhere - don't believe it! True! How true! In fact, Arch Memory recommended 240 pin, DDR2 PC2 - 4200. Hmmm...4200 aye?! O.k., let's order two one gig sticks. Guess what? It came fast, and worked perfect! Thanks Arch Memory. Btw, I went back to Crucial's site, just for the heck of it, and ran the system again - AND THEY'RE STILL TELLING ME, 240 PIN, DDR2 PC2 - 5300! Ah - wrong! Who wants to by the two sticks from Crucial? Good on you - Arch Memory! I'll remember this (pun intended)! Crucial 2GB 667 Mhz CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory
