5 out of 5 stars Great breadmaker for a great price   November 21, 2009
G. Burch
I highly recommend this breadmaker it for anyone looking for an economical option. You will not be disappointed. I purchased this breadmaker a month ago and have had a great experience with it. While researching this product, I read that it does an excellent job of kneading and I can definitely confirm that this is a strength of the product. The dough is absolutely beautiful. I was new to making bread with the breadmaker, so I took a few extra minutes with each loaf to watch the consistency of the dough. This gives you the chance to make slight adjustments necessary to ensure the loaf turns out perfectly. If the loaves are not turning out as you expected, I suspect it is because the dough is either too dry or too wet. Getting the dough consistency right will make sure you get perfect loaves every time. In addition to all the glowing comments, there were some concerns raised by others that they were having difficulty making bread that didn't fall during the bake cycle. I also struggled with that as well. I finally took the advice of the breadmaking community and reduced both water and yeast, which was the secret to avoiding this problem. Now, for one final suggestion. Buy one of the many highly recommended breadmaker cookbooks out there. I have had great luck with Donna Rathmell German's, The Bread Machine Cookbook. There are many others to choose from as well and they are typically quite inexpensive and definitely worth the money. I quickly moved beyond the recipes provided with the breadmachine itself and needed more ideas. Good luck and enjoy the breadmaking adventure!

4 out of 5 stars Over all pretty good   November 19, 2009

I have been using this bread machine for the past 3 1/2 years about 3 times a week. It is very good for the most part. The only complaint I have is that the lining in the inner pan will tend to flake after A LOT of use. I replaced the paddle once because of flaking. The inner pan has gotten to the point that I need to use something to separate the bread from the pan to get it out. At this point I am going to look into other bread machines, but if I don't find anything I like better, I will certainly come back to this one.

5 out of 5 stars Happy with purchase   November 16, 2009

So far I have only made three loaves of bread but based on that I am VERY happy with this breadmaker. My only reservation, based on my experience with my last bread machine, is that when starting the baking this one is a bit more difficult when you are seating the pan into the base of the machine. Other than that -- perfect.

5 out of 5 stars Economical and Awsome!   November 13, 2009

After missing my old bread maker I got rid of a long time ago, looked for a new one. This bread maker fits every bill PLUS some! I've made about 5 loaves & lots of dough, with wonderful results. I have not tried the cake or jam settings yet. High quality features in a non~expensive model.

My family loves the bread that comes straight out of the machine, and also when I make a variety of doughs to free form or shape my loaves into whatever I want to make. Easy to use, simple, & easy to clean. The paddle kneading blade is also metal and non~stick coated, and the loaves slip out with no "rips" on the bottom. A nice feature. Makes a tasty 1.5 pound loaf, or a big 2 pound one! Best bang for my buck. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars A great bread machine   November 8, 2009

I got this model to replace an older Sunbeam that finally wore out. The new one is as dependable as the old one. It does a great job on whole wheat bread, which is what we mostly use it for.

The size of the baking "bucket" has changed and that makes the bread easier to use for a sandwich.

I've used two of the older model machines for some time and was pleased with them. I'm looking forward to using this one for some time.

I wish the replacement baking "buckets" were cheaper, though, because that's all my older model needs to become a working machine again.
