Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description Building on the hugely popular TI-83 Plus, which is perhaps the best-selling calculator of all time, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is completely compatible with the TI-83 family. From that well-established platform, this new model adds more speed (a processor that's 2.5 times faster), an enhanced high-contrast display (eight lines by 16 characters), changeable faceplates (silver included), and a suite of 30 Apps. And with nine times more memory than the TI-83 Plus (1.54 MB of RAM, 480 KB Flash ROM), there's plenty of room for even more Apps and your own data storage.

Includes a USB Port and cable.
It also adds USB on-the-go technology (cable included) that can be used to share files with other calculators or to connect to PCs or optional presentation tools.

Comes with 30 pre-loaded Apps and supports all TI-83 Apps.
Thirty Apps are pre-loaded. Popular App titles include Cabri Jr., CBL/CBR, Conic Graphing, Inequality Graphing, Probability Simulations, Science Tools, StudyCards, TimeSpan, Topics in Algebra 1 Chapter 5, Topics in Algebra 1 Chapters 1-4, Transformation Graphing, and more. For students in math and sciences, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is a powerful, problem-solving tool with features for storing, graphing, and analyzing up to 10 functions. Plus, it displays graphs and evaluates tables on a split screen, allowing you to trace the graph and scroll through table values simultaneously.

Split screen lets you view a graph and its equation at the same time.
With the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, you can view an equation, its graph, and the coordinates all at one time. Jump from point to point by entering a number. Several useful plot types are available, including scatter, box-and-whisker, XY-line, histogram, and normal probability plots. Advanced statistics and regression analysis, graphical analysis, and data analysis are readily accessed, along with features for calculus, engineering, financial, logarithm, trigonometry, and hyperbolic functions--all crucial tools for advanced analysis. With its clear display and fast processing, the calculator incorporates graphing tools for mathematics and science course work, including statistics and finance.

The optional kickstand slide case is great for desktop work.
The TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is powered by four AAA alkaline batteries (not included) and one silver oxide battery (included) for backup, with an automatic shutoff to save energy. It is supported by a one-year limited warranty.

Optional color faceplates add flare.

5 out of 5 stars Relaibe - fulfills its function   November 8, 2009
C. Richard Dwozan (Cornelia, GA United States)
Purchased for college student. The calculator is performing as it should, however, I could never call a calculator that functions as this level "easy to use".

5 out of 5 stars Impressive Technology   November 1, 2009

I bought this for my son, who is a freshman in highschool. It can be used for Advanced Algebra, Physics and even Chemistry. There's a complete Periodic Table in the software. I was very impressed.

4 out of 5 stars Very good calculator   September 9, 2009
Samuel McGloin (somewhere)
Alright, i am writing this review based on a first hand experience with it. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and i must say for a graphing calculator, this one is very good. I like it because its easy to use, and it has a lot of functions that will help you on nearly any problems, whether it comes from algebra 1 to geometry and even to AP Calculus, this calculator is good. Some people don't like TI, or don't like the calculator but if you can just get past the name, you really will find out that this is a quality made calculator.Personally, my school can only lend the TI 83 calculators, and i have to say, those are not as good as the TI 84 With the TI 84, there is more clarity in the image it shows, and the colors (yes the colors) look good. You can find things easily and if you need help, you just consult the manual that came on the disk for the software. I am a computer fanatic and i do find the software lacks some things, but for software that connects with a calculator, it gets the job done. You can back up all Apps, RAM and everything in the archive so if you loose everything on the calculator, you can just restore it. I also found how to get cool learning games (and some not so educational... YAY RACING!) and i find them very neat, its a great thing to have in the class, and in the middle of study hall. Another thing that i know most people don't know about, is that you can customize it in many different ways! Different ways to cusomize it: a customizable faceplate, and a start-up screen that you can make or get from an image. It also comes preloaded with an organizer so you can keep track of important dates. I hope this review helped some people, and frankly this is what all the schools are using now, so its good to have your own to learn off of and to utilize in the classroom.

So overview:

**PROS**
--------
A lot of different functions for almost any class, even science classes!
Pre-loaded with a bunch of different apps, and bi-lingual support.
Easy to use and navigate menus.
Easy to use software and support.
Tons of apps available for download.
Clean interface

**CONS**
--------
Missing some features in the software
Missing a cool carrying case, i would love a leather one.
Can be somewhat slow when dealing with more than 4 equations, and graphing them.
Sorta pricey, thank goodness it was a gift from my father. I would've gone broke for a while if i bought this on my own!

5 out of 5 stars Good!   September 7, 2009
Patrick D. Bostwick (Chandler, AZ)
Well it's a calculator, and it works great for my Trigonometry and Chemistry class so I am happy. It will be good for the rest of college too, so it's definitely worth the investment.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Service!   September 4, 2009
R. Ramil
Excellent scientific graphic calculator. But, you need to purchase an instructional manual to learn how to use it if you're not already familiar with the key functions. I bought the Dummies book for it, and it is helpful.
