Product Description Your personal vocabulary assistant! This electronic dictionary has over 130,000 words with definitions. Uses the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition. The ultra slim, flexible keypad allows it to also be used as a bookmark. The unique keypad clip helps keep it in place as it sits neatly between the pages of any hard cover or paperback book. Also has a multi function calculator, internal clock which keeps date and time, and a handy conversion function great for converting measurements of temperature, weight, length, etc. Auto shut off. Uses one lithium battery (included). .
Amazon.com Review For the book lover who thought they had everything, this may be the perfect gift: a dictionary that draws its 130,000 definitions from the American Heritage Dictionary (4th edition) and is small enough to serve as a bookmark. The Zelco Bookmark Dictionary II's ultra-thin, flexible keyboard pad clips onto the page of a book for easy reference. Other functions include a measurement converter and a calculator. Date and time are kept with an internal clock. The keyboard features slightly raised touch buttons, with additional, alternate key functions that operate during calculator mode. The LED screen features relatively lar.ge 1/2-inch-tall figures for easy reading. When the dictionary is clipped to a page as a bookmark, the screen sits above the book. Use a small Phillips-head screwdriver to change the CR2032 3-volt lithium battery. The Zelco Bookmark Dictionary II measures 3-3/4 by 5-3/4 inches, while the display screen at the top is 3-3/4 by 1-1/2 by 1/2 inches. Zelco offers a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and labor that occur during normal use. --Garland Withers

Use as a bookmark only. February 29, 2008 T. M. Gover (Antioch, California,USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product is better used as a bookmark only. As a dictionary the overall design and content leave a lot to be desired. As noted by other reviewers, the keyboard is too flexible where it needs to be rigid. The keys are not user friendly; very often duplicating a letter when it was touched but once. I, like others, have found the dictionary seriously flawed; not enough content, very frustrating considering the time it takes to input an entry. Further, I don't need a calculator or clock either. I suggest consideration of a different product, e.g., the SHARP E550.
Great Portable Dictionary August 27, 2007 . 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great portable dictionary. I loved the raised keypad and the easy to read display. The clip on the back also holds it securely on the page and I am not constantly worried about it falling out of the book. The other neat thing is that it also has a conversion feature from metric to US measurements for when I'm cooking. And in case you forget how to use the thing, they've printed the instructions on the back! I love my dictionary!
ugg Where to start? August 18, 2007 Virginia Kelley (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Note: product did not help me correct spelling errors in this review. So don't dis me.
Good:
Light weight, easy to hold. Battery lasts a long time
Only good for looking up words as you're reading
Bad:
* Too few display rows...letter height is small and gray on gray. I don't see color well..difficult to read
Ugly:
* Clock. Why? Designers needed to stay on task...give a good dictionary
* Dictionary. Missing, spelling lookup, pronounciation, limited vocab
* Calculator. Light Blue small text key pad numbers. If you're color blind or need reading glasses...good luck!
* Convert. Product noticably unfinished. Unusable. Convert Acres? Hectares?? who cooks up this stuff. MISSING Oz <--> ML, Mi<-->K, LB<-->kGMs
Disappointment April 26, 2007 boulanger 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I seldom find a word I look up included; about 90% of the time I have to go to another, more complete dictionary. That is disappointing. I also find it hard to enter the letters, they often don't register as the touch board is too flexible. For reading on the fly it doesn't work, a hard surface is needed. So I mostly don't bother. Shame, as it's a good idea - it really bugs me to read a word and not be able to know its meaning!
Not for the Serious Reader February 20, 2006 F. L. Blum (NYC) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this because it sounded like such a great idea.
Unfortunately, every other word that I needed to look up wasn't in it.
This is a good BASIC dictionary, which will probably be useful to students and light readers, but if you are an AVID READER like me, and read everything from history to science fiction, this device may not serve you well.
