It works as advertised. October 11, 2009 Jaymis (Eastern USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Probably one of the better machines for this price range. Fast, (it keeps up with me), and the keys have a nice feel. The date thing is questionable, but it's ok. I think it's better than most other machines advertised. I was a corparate auditor, and I can fly on this thing. The keys are precise, and does what your finger imply.
Tax Lawyer Miami October 6, 2009 Miami Tax Lawyer (North Miami Beach, FL USA) Worked great for a little over six months. Then quit. Sharp will authorize a warranty repair, but I need to send it to a repair company in TX at my cost. It's less hassle to just get another calculator.
Perfect for home office and general use September 24, 2009 J. D. Davis (Michigan) I've had a number of desktop calculators over the years, but this particular model has everything one needs for general office calculations plus is very easy to use and easy on the eyes. First class machine and probably the best one yet.
Very good business calculator. September 19, 2009 Chevy05 (Wisconsin, USA) Purchased this calculator to replace my beloved old Texas Instruments business calculator that I used for about 13 years six days a week. Seems as though TI no longer makes desktop calculators. We have one of these in the office that has been used for a couple of years with no complaints. It is quiet and I like the sales tax feature. It can show time and the date with a battery backup in the bottom, but I have yet to use it. The total is on the left instead of the right like the TI's and the Sanyo's that we have used in the offices. I am not the fastest by any means when it comes to 10 keying the numbers, but I have noticed that my accuracy and speed have improved with this unit over my old TI that cost about $140 13 years ago. It is a little smaller than my old big black heavy-duty TI, but I am very comfortable with the size as I can not stand the small calculators with my large hands. It uses the good ol two color ink ribbon spools that I still prefer. Seems to be less calculators that use the old long lasting ribbons. My only complaint is that the view for looking at the last number printed is not easily viewable on the tape as it is too low in the calculator. The number is on the display of course and I have not gotten use to viewing the number there. Old habit I guess. The paper does advance far enough to see the total amount when the total key is hit. Nit picking, but this would be an excellent business calculator and would be perfect IF Sharp did something about this. My old TI had a better design but it was a lot bigger also. Buy this for business. Very reasonable price for a good calculator.
Most Efficient. Period April 30, 2009 J. J. (Sebastopol, CA) I used to be a bookkeeper, so a good, FAST, efficiently laid out keyboard is important to me. Though I no longer do that work, I still would never change from this calculator and am happy it's still available as mine finally lost its marbles and won't stop printing once it starts. (Probably it could be repaired, but these days, that's more expensive than getting a new one so...) Having the "total" key where it is -- by your thumb-- and having the single zero key a bar instead of a small key is WAY smart. You can really move on this keyboard.
