Editorial Reviews:

Product Description

Written expressly for teachers, this book is jam-packed with tools and strategies for integrating response to intervention (RTI) into everyday instruction in grades K/n-/5. Numerous real-world examples connect RTI concepts to what teachers already know to help them provide effective instruction for all students, including struggling learners. Drawing on extensive classroom experience, the authors:

*Present color-coded intervention recipes for all three tiers of RTI implementation.

*Provide hands-on tools and 50 reproducibles, with a large format and sturdy wire binding for ease of use.

*Explain the core features of RTI and what they look like in action.

*Describe evidence-based instructional methods for reading, writing, math, and behavior.

*Show how to fit assessment and progress monitoring into the busy school day.

I incorporated RTI in the Classroom: Guidelines and Recipes for Success into two RTI Methods graduate courses for general and special educators this summer with rave reviews. Teachers and administrators consistently reported that RTI in the Classroom was a favorite, combining relevant, practical information with readability. The inclusion of detailed intervention recipes for reading, writing, math, and behavior for all 3-Tiers, along with RTI implementation forms, effectively bridge the gap between research evidence and direct application of research-based methods for all students. RTI in the Classroom was considered a valuable resource for educators at all levels that will be frequently utilized and enthusiastically shared with colleagues.

Based on university course feedback, RTI in the Classroom: Guidelines and Recipes for Success is a keeper for future graduate courses, and a highly recommended resource for university instructors, educators, administrators, school psychologists, and educational consultants.
