Customer Reviews:
Excellent presentation of mathematics for the engineering technician September 5, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Allyn Washington's Basic Technical Mathematics is well known in the engineering technology community. It has been used at many technical colleges for years and has become a "standard" by which other technical mathematics books are judged. Through seven editions (now eight) this book has probably introduced more engineering technicians to mathematics than any other. Explanations are clear, examples abundant, and review problems are plentiful. There is a student solutions manual that is reasonably priced (about $30.00) that can be purchased. The book progresses from basic mathematics all the way through trigonometric functions, complex numbers, matrices and analytic geometry. Math is not an easy subject to grasp, but if you are determined to learn this subject and are willing to spend the time, I can't think of a better textbook to learn from.
