Math Curse March 3, 2010 Angelica B. Obregon (Brownsville, TX USA) When we are young we think that math is a big problem we must face. As we grow older we see that math is every where. It is great for math majors for it helps them see how their students will see the world once they understand math. Comical, realistic and very visual.
Even Big Kids Love It March 3, 2010 Waltzing Matilda (Nebo, NC) This book was read to us at a training for math teachers...I had to have it for my Junior High students...they loved it!
Hilarious August 27, 2009 J. Donohue (NJ) This book is hilarious and both my 4 and 6 year old boys ask for this book nightly. Even my 9 year old girl loves it. It caters to all ages really. I find myself laughing hysterically. A wonderful discussion of math mixed with humor. Usually we get our books from the library, but when we find a gem, we get it for the home library. This is one of those books.
Anxious humor July 2, 2009 Kathleen S. Kennedy (Colorado) Readers will have little problem finding the anxious humor in this story at it explores the days events through math problems. The intensity of this tale builds with the use of dynamic illustrations that draw you ever deeper into the curse. An absolute word feast that may have some readers checking their dictionary. A calculated treat.
Oh my! March 22, 2009 Mary A. Sapp (Fredericksburg, VA) A fun book my middle school students pull off the shelf! They enjoy the illustrations and the problems.
