A very good book.... October 23, 2005 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
There is another book on GRE math which definitely worse than this one (I saw it). This book covers all the material you need, how ever there are not enough practice problems. You might want to solve extra problems from your text books.
A GOOD book, though not quite enough. September 13, 2005 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Now I'm having a good time reviewing the GRE Math sub test under the guidance of this book.
It provides me with explicit syllabus for what I need to know for this test. And what's more? It tells me to which extend I need to prepare for each section. GRE Sub test doesn't like a test we might have in college. It covers a wide variety of knoweldges but with little depth. So we must be very careful with how much effort we put into each section. If you go without this kind of guidance, this would be a big problem.
What test takers need to pay attention for is that this book may not be adequate to prepare you for a high score. Other references should also be referred to for a better understanding of the concepts and theories. Plus, for going through the test skillfully, other practice works should also be taken into account.
Finally an advise for non-english test takers: this is a vital book for us to get familiar with english vocabularies related to math, so don't miss it.
Good September 10, 2005 0 out of 14 found this review helpful
I think the book is good, hoever, I do not finish reading it, that's why I did not rate it "5".
By the way, I think your worker in China do not take his job seriously. When I was not at home, he simply put the book on the floor leaning the door. It was easily picked by others, and I could have no chance to get it back.
a good book August 5, 2005 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book acts as a good guider to help me prepare the gre math test. It provides the knowledge that is needed to grasp and many examples along with concrete and clear explanation. It gives me a big help.
good for refresh. but CURRENT ACUTAL GRE is MUCH harder April 2, 2005 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I reviewed this book more than 3 times before the exam. After that, I felt somewhat confident about the exam. but actual exam I took today(4/2, 2005) showed that the real exam is much much harder than this well -writen practice book. Some advanced topic, topology, real anaylsis, abstract algrebra is way way hard. You better review or study with actual textbook. DON'T prepare for the exam with ONLY THIS BOOK.
