Ez-Solutions GMAT Review December 30, 2008
The overall content in the EZ-solutions set of nine GMAT books is very good. When I started studying for the GMAT I couldn't answer so many questions. But now that I have used the EZ -solutions books I can answer a lot of them. I still need to practice on my speed but they have helped me come a long way. The EZ-solutions books break down each subject covered in the GMAT with a step-by-step system.
The EZ-solutions set of nine GMAT books were extremely helpful considering I haven't had a math class in over six years, and I couldn't remember simple things such as integer properties. Like I said I had taken a GMAT practice exam and I couldn't answer many questions, but now I am getting a lot better.
The format of the EZ-solutions set of nine GMAT books is very good as it breaks down each topic in different books.
The text of the EZ-solutions set of nine GMAT is perfectly clear and precisely to the point. After going through each of the nine EZ-solutions set of nine GMAT books more than once and taking them with me where ever I have gone, they hold up nicely.
I believe that anybody studying for the GMAT should have the EZ-solutions set of nine GMAT books in their collection. They should also get the Official guide, with the Kaplan math review as well. The math lessons in the EZ-solutions GMAT books are much better than the Official, Kaplan, and PR. They have a lot more examples, with a lot more instruction as well. The Official GMAT guide isn't a good book for instruction but just for extra problems. Kaplan and PR have a decent math review in their book but the EZ-solutions GMAT set of nine books really bring it home.
I would recommend the EZ-solutions GMAT set of nine book series to anyone studying for the GMAT. Especially those individuals that who need a math review, and just not practice problems. This set of nine books breaks down each subject covered on the GMAT, and gives detailed expiations of each one.
The EZ-solutions GMAT set of nine books are a little more pricey then those currently on the market. But if you are serious about taking the GMAT and getting a good score I believe they are worth the extra money. As I mentioned earlier some of the other books on the market don't have as good a math lessons as the EZ-solutions GMAT books. Highly recommended!
Good book for GMAT math review! December 29, 2008
I've tried almost every book available for the GMAT, also spent a lot of money in taking courses/tutoring, but I have to admit that the EZ GMAT books were the most helpful. Like they say, "out of sight, out of mind," I have been out of school for a while and needed an extensive brush up on math concepts. I'd highly recommend getting EZ GMAT set of 10 books (manual, arithmetic, algebra, application, geometry, word problems, logic & stats, basic wb, advanced wb, and math strategies). If you have all these 10 books, you'll be equipped with all the tools for the GMAT math. These books are very detailed and comprehensive like no other book that I have tried. The test-taker's manual is a great source for learning how to prepare yourself for the test, the review books contain each and every math concept that you need to know, the practice workbooks contain questions very similar to what you'll see on the actual test, and the strategies book will tell you how to approach the math questions. In addition, of course, I'd recommend getting the OG for additional practice.

I highly recommend the EZ Solutions Math Series for anyone taking the GMAT. I bought them seeing the positive reviews elsewhere and they really lived up to the recommendations. Despite having a decent quantitative background, when it came to some of the questions on GMAT specifically those in the Probability & Stat area, I was struggling. I needed something that explained the basics and at the same time was capable of giving me sufficient knowledge/strategies to solve the problems found on the test. The EZ Solutions Math Series fit the bill perfectly. After going through the series, I have seen a marked improvement in my scores. I had earlier gone through both Kaplan and Barron's Math sections, but felt that they didn't give me the necessary confidence. For serious test takers, I would definitely suggest going through the EZ Math Series before attempting those on the Official Guide.
Crash Word Problems November 20, 2008
This book is very strong in providing you with all types of Word Problems that you can meet on real GMAT test. But the main target of this book is not only to show you all these problems, but provide you with everything, what you need, to successfully solve all of them. You shouldn't read boring theory, because you study it when you practicing.
In every GMAT textbooks (here I mean textbooks that provide you with preparation for all GMAT sections), you definitely find a chapter or section "Word Problem" where you find theory about this type of problems and enough limited set of problems. If you go through the theory and do all problems, but don't understand something or find them easy then you have to search in other sources for additional examples.
This book helps you to discover your gaps in all types of Word problems. It helps you to understand why and where you make mistakes because everything is done step-by-step without jumping and dropping any stage of explanation in solutions.
The level of difficulty of problems is ranged from easy to difficult. It means that you can solve easy problem, but make a mistake in more difficult one, then you immediately find your weaknesses. The conception of this book is to provide you with problems, but these problems are in blocks that related to one rule or one type of problem. Even if you take a problem and whether guess the answer or solve it occasionally, you can't guess all answers or use your flaw approach for the same type of problem that is paraphrased or conditions are changed. Doing problems in a row show you whether you are good, or you need to improve your skills. Because the worst what could happen is when you solve pretty easy examples of word problems and think that you are pretty good with these questions, but on real test you get more complex problem. Uppps...
May be other providers want to provide their users with the same approach too, like EZ, but they want to cover as much as possible in one book and with theory, and it's unreal to insert all this stuff in one book.

I bought the series of EZ Solutions for the GMAT and found them to be very helpful. After going through GMAT books from Kaplan, Princeton Review, and others, I needed something more in-depth to tackle all type of questions. The EZ books cover a broad spectrum of content and practice questions with detailed explanations. These are great books for those who are seeking to perfect their score or need something more than just the basic review provided in regular study guides. They are also a good review for those who have been out of school for a while and need to refresh their math skills to score higher on the GMAT . The EZ books are very detailed and comprehensive, far more than any other book that I have seen. I would highly recommend using the EZ Solutions GMAT set of books to improve your scores!
