3 out of 5 stars The price is the best thing about this book   May 12, 2000

OK, maybe the title of this review is unfair. Overall a nice book but it is a little too cute for me with sections labeled "Wow! I Got One!", "Oh No! I've Been Rejected!", and "Grants, Grants, Everywhere!". I do like the author's emphasis on a team-based approach to proposal writing which I have seen used to great success but it is too light on the stuff that seems to really matter like writing strong goals and objectives and a persuasive statement of need. This is a book I would probably recommend to someone in he field of education who was involved in the grant writing process but not the one who is actually writing the proposal. For this, I recommend Carlson's "Winning Grants Step by Step," or Bauer's " A Teacher's Guide to Winning Grants."
