Fractions & Decimals Grade 6-8 October 16, 2008 The book had writing with ink pen in it and I cannot use several of the pages. Teacher
I love this book! March 2, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I usually have to push and nag my son into doing math. He sits down with this book without one complaint! He finally understands what fractions and decimals have to do with him. The questions make sense to him, and he is already gaining confidence in math. I have purchased several other 6th grade math books, and I think the content in this book is comparable - just presented in a friendlier manner. I am thrilled to have found this series and will be buying more for him and his younger sister.

This book is one of a series of books called "Basic, Not Boring." I would agree with that subtitle. The activities included in this book are designed to put fractions and decimals in the many contexts and situations where they might be found. Additionally, the situations are very friendly to the age 10-13 group that the series appeals to. I would especially recommend this book to any teacher who has experienced a loss of words when asked, "When will I ever use this stuff you're teaching me?"
