5 out of 5 stars Just may help me pass my anatomy class   October 10, 2009
Penny (Baltimore, MD)
It's been 30 years since I was in a classroom, and I'm back to school working on a Health Information Mgmt degree. After attending my first basic anatomy lecture I walked out with my head spinning, ready to give up. What language was he speaking? The textbook helped some but it was full of jargon and I still didn't really understand. The Dummies books had always helped me out before (learning Access, public speaking, etc), so I was relieved when I found this book. I immediately read chapter 3 (Forming your Foundation), and it gave me the basics I needed to understand the textbook and lecture. Now, the night before a scheduled lecture, I read the corresponding chapter, and it's so much easier to follow. Oddly enough, Anatomy is now my favorite class.

This is not a replacement for a textbook, but if it's been awhile and you need to get back up to speed for an anatomy class, I highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars Great Introductory Material   September 9, 2009

This is a good beginner's introductory text for anatomy and physiology. It would work well on its own, or as a supplement to another textbook.

I have taken Anatomy and Physiology in College and needed a review for going back to college. I found this book to be excellent a easy to read and easy to understand book. Anatomy and Phsiology for Dummies and Review for the Rest of Us, is better then my college book.

4 out of 5 stars Good but not the best choice.   May 16, 2009
F. DELEO (Long island, NY)
I do recommend Anatomy & Physiology for Dummies, but I found 'Anatomy DeMystified' by D. Dale Layman more useful that provided concise, detailed information. To be honest these courses, especially at the college level, are tough. I used several resources to gleam pertinent, understandable information from each. (multiple books, school text, inter-net, notes, etc...) I received an A in both Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 using a wide variety of digestible information beyond the difficult, very technical college text book. Just my 2-cents. Good-luck or should I say, break a leg!
