Product Description The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing is a slightly irreverent, straightforward guide to investing for everyone. The book offers sound, practical advice, no matter what your age or net worth. Bottomline, become a Boglehead and prosper! Originally just the chat-line ruminations of Boglehead founder Taylor Larimore, and Morningstar forum leading cohorts Mel Lindauer and Michael LeBoeuf, their trusted advice has been brewed and distilled into an easy-to-use, need-to-know, no frills guide to building up your own financial well-being – so you can worry less and profit more from the investments you make. Invest like a Boglehead, and let their grassroots investment wisdom guide you down the path of long-term wealth creation and happiness, without all the worries and fuss of stock pickers and day traders. If you face a financial crisis or problem, or simply want to know what is prudent to do with the money you save, the Bogleheads will have the answers you need to help you gain your financial footing and keep it.

John Bogle is the best! November 1, 2009 James E. Cox (Louisburg, Kansas United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have read every book on personal finance I have been able to find over the past thirty years. I have also listened to just about every radio talk show "financial expert". In the past several years I have become a financial follower of John Bogle. I believe he is the best! His advice is sound, practical and built on wisdom. He is a credit to the industry and this book relates his extremely valuable insight into investing.
Excellent Primer October 8, 2009 Zookeeper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Provides unbiased advice and examines the different investment vehicles available. I recommend it for my intro-level investments class required of finance majors.
Excellent for beginners and still good for intermediate readers October 3, 2009 L. Agarwal (Lincoln, Nebraska United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Probably one of the best non-fiction book I have ever read. I got most information I know about personal finance from this book. I still re-read chapters on taxes and bonds. Plus if you want to get help or continue your personal finance education, you can visit the bogleheads forum. I am looking forward to reading the new guide to retirement once my local library buys it (which they are going to on my recommendation).
Excellent Starting Point for the Long-Term Investor September 24, 2009 Mike Piper (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the last couple years, this book has been one of my go-to recommendations for new investors. It explains in very clear terms the fundamentals of long-term investing. The authors don't mince words either. They state exactly why investors are better off with a buy & hold index portfolio than with any of the other nonsense out there.
Highly recommended.
Great starting point for the new investor July 20, 2009 Rangaprabhu Parthasarathy (Collegeville, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I will not write a detailed review since many smart readers have written excellent reviews on the book already. I will just add my experience reading the book.
- It is extremely well organized and written. There are small chapters on all the key investing topics without going too technical and overboard with terms that will confound the reader. Instead there are short technical pieces supplementing everyman-talk that makes it a fun read.
- I didn't write it wrong. It is actually a fun read. Before you know, like a nice fiction novel, you are more than half way through with the book and have actually learnt a lot in the process. Cant ask for more from a book on such a topic.
- I am fairly investing savvy but I still found this book to have a lot of good tips and information worth learning.
Highly recommended for the first time investor or anyone who wants to read "The One" book before jumping in.
