Customer Reviews: Exactly what you need to teach Saxon Math! October 14, 2009 joel'sjen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I hesitated to purchase, but like one of the other reviewers, I was tired of not having what the Saxon Math Teacher's Manual said to use. I echo her sentiments when I say this is just what I needed. After much research, Amazon is the least expensive for a NEW kit. I'm not sure why their description and picture are so vague. When my kit arrived the plastic container actually had a sticker on top that said, "Saxon Publishers". This kit will be most helpful to anyone wanting to teach Saxon Math K-3rd without the hassle of coming up with their own manipulatives!
Lovely after a year of "making do" August 21, 2009 GinaE (Southern US) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Last year I taught Saxon One math to my kindergartener. In order to cut the curriculum budget, friends told me I could "make do" using Legos as counting blocks, buying my own rulers, pattern blocks, etc. I did that and borrowed the geoboards and balance. I hated it. This year, I had the space in the curriculum budget to buy the Manipulatives Kit. It comes in a roomy white plastic box with a lid - along the lines of a Sterilte/Rubbermaid box. It seems very sturdy. The lid doesn't "snap" on, which in my klutzy family could prove to be an issue. Also, those buying this need to know they'll need to provide their own play money as none is included in the kit. I am pleased with this purchase.
Since the negative reviews are over one year old, I will assume that the photo has been changed. What is pictured here is exactly what I have PLUS the storage box.
Horrible... and Misleasding July 9, 2008 Casey Barber 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was very excited about this product... it just came in the mail a few minutes ago and I am completely disappointed. It is not worth the price and I am considering sending it back. The picture shows a teacher clock, dice, etc. and none of these are included with the product. If i could have I wouldn't even have given this item 1 star.
not what is pictured March 1, 2008 SAH-Mommy2three (Grosse Ile, MI) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I was excited about this, however it is not what is pictured at all. There is not a large teachers clock, no thermometer, no calculators, no dice, no large number line, no tens or hundreds place value cubes, only two small clocks, no play money ... over all I was very unhappy to receive this. I would not have bought it if I had known. Not what I was looking for at all.
