Love The Kumon Math Books November 3, 2008 Susan Y. Schoonover (Boulder, CO) I just love the Kumon Math books though I have to admit I have never tried the ones related to writing/reading. This book is especially good as the color by number pictures are really fun for those just beginning to recognize both numbers and color words. And the pictures when completed are of fun, familiar objects. The dot to dot activities are not quite as good as the color by number.
Love it October 3, 2008 C. FOX (Katy, Texas) Bought this for my son and he just loved it. Now I have to buy a similar one which they sell for the same age range. I'm so excited that he loves it so much. Keeps him busy for hours and he runs to show me each one after completion. Good Job
excellent choice for number recognition October 15, 2007 S. overman (arkansas) my 4 year old twins have enjoyed the Kumon books but this one has been their favorite. My son's coloring detail and enjoyment of coloring has increased enormously. It opened up his desire to color. They both were familiar with their numbers but only to 12. This jumped us to the next level.
Not Very Interesting March 25, 2007 B. Kennedy 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We have had several of the Kumon workbooks over the years and they have always been fun and exciting for our children to work through the problems. This one just has the same 2 puzzle types (color the correct number, dot-to-dot) all the way through and none of my children were interested for very long.
Not as good as the other Kumon books for my 3-year-old March 1, 2007 Erika R. Alvarez (SF Bay Area) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
My almost 4-year old LOVED the Kumon mazes and cutting books (and has been badgering me for more). In this Numbers 1-30 book the activities consist of either coloring in certain numbered shapes to reveal an image (i.e., color all #1's yellow, all 2's blue, etc) or joining numbered dots in order to reveal an image.
He likes the numbered dots pages just fine but refuses to do the other side (the 2 types of activities face each other across the page) because he's just not that into coloring. Kids who like to color in large parts of a page should really enjoy this activity, but it bores him to tears. So a caveat for the parents of the non-coloring kids among you: you'll waste half the book.
