Where has this book been all my life?! November 22, 2009 L. Nall If you're not vegan, don't be deterred--this cookbook is on a par with any other cookie compilation (Martha Stewart's Cookies, The All-American Cookie Book, The Williams-Sonoma Collection: Cookies). It includes fool-proof recipes for the classics (chocolate crinkle cookies, PB cookies, lemon bars), plus tons of new recipes (key lime shortbread rounds, macadamia ginger crunch drops) that are sure to impress. The directions are clear, the ingredients are common, and the results are delicious! No one would ever suspect ANY of the cookies are vegan. And you can eat the batter without any fear of salmonella or the other nasty things that lurk in dairy products!
Excellent, per usual November 21, 2009 Debra Schiff (Somerset, NJ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like all the books from Isa and Terry (Vegan Brunch, Veganomicon, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, and my favorite oldie Vegan with a Vengeance), this one is a winner. I just made a batch of the chocolate agave trailmixers (substituting carob for chocolate) and was very pleased with the result. They are like little brownie cookies with extra fun bits inside.
The format of the book is very much like the cupcakes book. It is easy to follow, has loads of great photos, and very handy tips all along the way. A big hit and a top rating from me. Now I've got to have a cookie with some almond milk!
fabulous! November 18, 2009 sarawithanh 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this cookbook! I've been waiting patiently for a vegan cookie cookbook and my wish was granted in the form of Isa & Terry's book. You can't go wrong with any of Isa and Terry's cookbooks - their recipes are well thoughtout and thourougly tested before book goes to publication.
You MUST buy this book for the Mexican Chocolate Snickerdoodle cookies alone - they will blow your mind! The Irish Kiss cookies are also amazingly delicious.
Buy this cookbook - you won't regreat it!
Delicious beyond words!! November 16, 2009 Jaizon (NH United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought the author's Vegan Brunch book was about as good as it could get, but this one surpasses even the gingerbread waffles which are my favorite from the brunch book. So far, we have feasted on the sweet port sesame cookies-unique and unbelievable in taste and texture, the blackstrap molasses spice cookies-spicy and full of molasses flavor, and today the cowboy cookies, simply the best choc chip cookie I have ever tasted. They are crispy on the outside, soft and chewy when you take a bite, and the flavor of oats, nuts and coconut blend perfectly. Can't wait to make my way through the rest of the selections. One is more appealing than the next, and the photos are not only beautiful, but accurate representations of what comes out of the oven. Buy this book, you won't be sorry!!
BEST COOKIES EVER!!!!!!! November 15, 2009 Brandy Chandler (Las Vegas,NV) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Vegan or not this is a must have for everyone. I have had this book for only a week and have already made Banana Everything Cookies, Cranberry White Chocolate biscotti, and Espresso Fudge Brownies. My boyfriend and son love everything i make from here, even thought they are not vegan. Moist, chewy, full of flavor it is everything you want in a cookie and they give it to you. After this book you will never get a store made cookie again! Now on to the cupcakes!!!!!
