Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Offering inspirational advice in a down-to-earth style, this unique compilation of letters provides wisdom, guidance, and heartfelt insight to help the reader chart their own path to success. Based on the author’s motivational speaking at inner-city schools across the country, the letters deal with the tough issues that face young people today.

Bombarded with messages from music and the media, Harper set out to dispel the stereotypical image of success that young people receive today and instead emphasizes alternative views of what it truly means to be a successful male, such as educational and community achievements and self-respect. Intended to provide this frequently regarded "lost generation" of young men with words of encouragement and guidance, Harper’s deep-rooted passion regarding the plight of today’s youth drove him to write this book, sure to change the lives of readers for years to come.

I bought this for my lil brother but I read it first. Very inspirational to young men if you can get them to read it. I'd recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars wonderful book   February 22, 2010
C. Terry (altus, oklahoma)
this book has a lot of recommendations for young men while going through life. it is very well thought out and i love the notes from famous actors (will smith) put in the book. it is an easy read and is highly recommended for any young man. especially one without a male figure in his life.

4 out of 5 stars Hill Harper to the rescue   December 9, 2009
Michele E. Richards (OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, US)
This book was very informative as well as entertaining. What a positive role model Hill is for young men. I bought this book for my little brother but decided to read it before I gave it to him & I'm glad I did. I'm a woman and I found the book to be interesting, helpful & a sheer treat. Hill Harper gets 4 stars from me with this book!!!

5 out of 5 stars THis inspired my teens   September 11, 2009

Letters to a Young Brother: MANifest Your Destiny

I purchased this book for a workshop we held for a group teens I work with. The topic ocvered was personal appearance and hygiene. This book was used for self reflection at the end. Each teen recieved their own copy and loved the book.

5 out of 5 stars Must Read for Young Boys and Dad's   September 8, 2009
D. Bryant (Detroit)
I'm a single father of two girls. I read this book in one day and immediately started reading the Young Sisters book. My only gripe is that while the advice in this book is timeless I felt it's about 20 years too late because I needed this book years ago.

Thanks Hill
