Not a bad book. November 25, 2009 Bookreader My only complaints about this book is the amount of soy sauce used in the recipes. It makes the dishes too salty. Also, the amount of oil in some of the recipes can be cut back by at least half.
So far I have made the Suated Collard Greens and they were good. Also, I really liked the Backyard BBQ sauce. Some of the other recipes that I will be making are Mexican Millet, Pineapple and Quinoa Stir-Fry, and a couple soups.

I purchased this book for my daughter because she was always borrowing mine. It has so many great recipes.
AMAZING food for vegans, omnis, and everyone in between November 18, 2009 Daniels Cortese 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't care if you're vegan or not- YOU NEED THIS BOOK and you need it now. This food is absolutely DELICIOUS, and I personally enjoy the lighthearted style of the writing as well. Every recipe that I have made out of the Veganomicon has turned out phenomenally well. I serve these recipes at home (we're vegan) and also bring them to social events, such as fellowship hour at church, where they are beloved by vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike. BUY IT.
Great Book November 16, 2009 S. Estrada (San Diego, CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have tried quite a few recipes from this book and every one is delicious. Even my non-vegan family likes them.
May not be for beginners November 15, 2009 Justice (The Midwest) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am hopeful when it comes to eating vegetarian. While this book has a great introduction, and many recipes, I did not find it easy. First, the portions are huge! They are really meant to feed a family of four for the whole week. The only thing memorable I recall making was the Lentil soup. While the book boasts itself as having delicious recipes that even meat lovers could enjoy, my meat eating family was not convinced of the taste.
If you are interested in eating more vegitarian/vegan meals, and you are new to the process, I would suggest you start somewhere else. I had better luck with a simple recipe I found online titled,"How to cook tofu like the Pros: Dry-fry and marinate method".
