I cannot see how they can change the name when that is the name the curriculum has called it for so many years. I absolutely love the meeting books because you have everything in the same place. My four and five year old children fought over the K one I bought last year. Now they are going through 1st grade math together. I didn't realize there was a meeting book for each year and am waiting for my "1" now. I bought a different year to take place of the "1" but am disappointed in it am purchasing the "1" now and will take the other one back.

Becareful!! This is not listed clearly... it is only the meeting book and not the student workbook. I ordered this under the impression it was the workbook as the listing implies and found out the hard way. Amazon would not refund my shipping cost. I was very disappointed.
If you have a calendar, can draw a graph for weather, type up a 100s chart, and practice patterning you do not need this book anyway.
Definitely go for the student workbook and the teacher's manual, it has all you will need. We absolutely love the Saxon program. My daughter has raced through it and can't wait to do math each day.
