great book for a quick review, use other sources too October 8, 2009 Jackie This book was great. I scored in the 99th percentile by skimming this book twice, USMLE world, and a quick read through First Aid for Step 2 CK for basic information and understanding. My advice would be to read through Secrets as you take USMLE world and take notes in the book [some of the info is out of date but you can update as you go]. Studied about 3 1/2 weeks with only these 3 sources.
I got 99 after reading this book... July 5, 2009 Mark Joven I read this book twice and got 99. It was able to discuss the most common diseases tackled in the USMLE step 2 ck as well as the not so common conditions that the examiners ask in the exam. It is very readable, concise, and complete in coverage with special emphasis in the most commonly encountered questions in the exams. The book is question based like the other specialty secret books. I highly recommend this book.

I got my book with in a week, almost new, it was a nice experiance.
And Adjunct Book; Not Comprehensive in the slightest October 11, 2008 Sam The format of the book involves several high yield questions or scenarios in each subject as opposed to a comprehensive review of each subject. Therefore, you should not use this book alone or even consider it a main source of information. It should be view as an adjunct source to a more comprehensive source such as "First Aid for the USMLE Step 2" or "Step Up to the USMLE Step 2."
That being said, there are some nice features to this book. I did USMLEWORLD before reading this book and several of the questions I missed could have been answered had I read this book. It is very high yield and worth purchasing. However, I caution anyone who thinks this book is the Bible for Step 2 study or even if they think this book offers some "secrets". Most of the material in this book is fairly well known and obvious stuff but there are some useful tidbits in each chapter that is tested on that isn't obvious.
four to five stars August 23, 2008 student Excellent book for step 2 review. It looks small, but it actually covers a large amount of material in a reader-friendly format. Well written and well-edited. I would strongly suggest anyone taking step2 to consider this book before purchasing boards/wards, first aid, crush, or step up.
