| Customer Reviews: Great Book August 5, 2009 R. Daniel Williams (China) I am a teacher for adult ESL classes, and I've found this book to be quite useful for this level. In fact, 21 of the 22 total stories are quite good. The other story, "Kaleidoscope" is actually a poem, so it doesn't fit my students. Most of the stories have a moral lesson which can be learned by the reader, which I also like.
good product May 25, 2009 M. Rhodes It is what it says it is, although there seems to be a lot of the same types of genres over and over - more than is necessary. But the units are well-done and are exactly as they are described online. Used it with my 9 yr old daughter for homeschooling. She got tired of it, but we used to it my satisfaction.
Great Book, Wrong Titles October 22, 2008 R Stahl (United States) Read and Understand Fiction: Grades 4 -6 is a great book for teachers to use as an enrichment tool for third graders, and for fourth through sixth graders. I have used this book for years, and the students love the stories and follow-up activities. It has improved their comprehension skills, and increased their vocabularies. In addition, there are open-ended questions for the students to answer. Please be aware that some of the editorial info for this book is incorrect. The titles listed at amazon.com are the wrong titles!!! That being said, the book is well worth the price!
