Practical and easy to use September 16, 2009 A. Moujoud (canada) Great trading system.
I like the book, wrote in an intelligent and easy way. Reduce the noise in the stock market and requires less work once we became familiar with the market.
Thanx Stan
Excellent book on chart patterns September 14, 2009 John Byers (Grand Haven, MI) I really liked this book and found it to be full of practical and common sense applications on charting stocks. Even though it is a bit dated it still is very applicable and useful to today's market.
Still a good approach September 6, 2009 gkhud (Florida) If a person follows Stan's method of when to buy and sell stocks based solely on technical analysis, I think they will do well. The book does not go into how to select stocks so much based on fundamentals, but there are lots of newsletters out there that do that. It is not easy to track stock price performance relative to the moving averages when your portfolio contains many stocks. I recommend the book but caution the reader that it is not easy to implement the conservative advice given. If anyone knows of a convenient way to keep frequent track of stock price performance relative to their simple moving averages, let me know.
AWESOME BOOK on Trading September 4, 2009 Neokanobi (So.Cal, CA) Stan's book is about 20 years old but don't let the age fool you, he organizes the book in a clear and easy to understand way and give you some "How To's that are timeless. I highly recommend his book to any one that is starting to trade or anyone that wants to better understand how the market and technical analysis works.
Classic Market Investing August 4, 2009 John Beeck (Dallas, TX USA) This is an excellent though dated classic that all wannabe investors/traders should read. The author details fundamental chart reading and analysis to find profitable entry and exits into the market. Although the charts are dated in appearance they provide adequate illustrations of the key points outlined by the author. Many of my trader colleagues continue to refer back to this book as a refresher in simple but profitable investing and swing trading. Definitely worth the investment.
