Best Cookbook I've ever owned!! November 18, 2009 Hollywood711 (Redmond, WA) Without a doubt - the best set of "clean" (bodybuilding/fitness industry term for nutritious) recipes I've ever seen! If you try nothing else, take the time to make the Moroccan Chicken with Lentils (if you like savory foods, this will become a favorite).
Great Recipes! November 8, 2009 Rosie T. (Nebraska, USA) I really loved this book. There are so many wonderful recipies! Every dish I have made from this book has tasted wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone and I have! The only reason it got 4 stars is because some of the measurements for the servings was incorrect or not there at all. When trying to count calories it doesn't help to know what the serving size is but know the calories/fat/ect...
Almost all clean! October 27, 2009 V. Karchai (Mill Valley, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this cookbook a lot and I've tried out her 'Turkey Meatloaf' and 'muffins' recipes. They came out pretty good and of course, clean. The ingredients are pretty simple and easy to find. I would have given this cookbook 5 stars if it wasn't for some of the recipes that I don't think they are truly 'clean'.
As one of Tosca's clean-eating mantras is to avoid consuming white flour and products that are made from white flour, I was surprised to see a few recipes that call for 'rice noodles', for example, PAD THAI. Rice noodles are made from white rice flour. When you're eating rice noodles in any form, flat or vermicelli, basically you're eating white rice or white flour period! Also, there are recipes that call for 'all purpose flour'.... doesn't 'all purpose flour belong to 'white flour' category?? This is very confusing for me. Nevertheless, I like most of the recipes. I just won't try the ones that I don't trust.
Some useful recipes October 18, 2009 WiseWoman (South Eastern USA) The concept it great. Some of the recipes are easy. Others take a bit more doing. All probably taste great.
Very Complicated!!!! October 16, 2009 A. Herrera (New York) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I hate this book all the recipes are very complicated to make, nothing is easy to make in that book and they require a lot of ingredients and some are very expensive. I spent $60 just to make 3 recipes from there and some of the ingredients I wont use again, I would not recommend this book to ANYONE!!!!! What's the point of having of this book?? To make you buy every single item in the store just to cook from that book and not to say that you have to go to different stores to find almond slivers which till today I have no idea what they are because I didnt find a store that sold them. HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!
