Product Description
It is vital in any economic situation to have a network to be able to fall back on, or build upon. The most valuable website giving you this on a professional level is LinkedIn. Over 34 million people now have a profile on LinkedIn and also a few Connections. The question that most people ask is: what does this website have that I can use to my advantage? And also: how can I use it in a way that gives me results without my having to spend too much time on it? “How to REALLY use LinkedIn” shows why LinkedIn is such a powerful tool for everybody to use. Not only that, it also presents a short and effective step-by-step plan for people to apply to get immediate results and advanced strategies for finding new customers, a new job, employees and people to help you get your job done faster. On top of that, the answers to frequently asked questions, an overview of little-known LinkedIn features and the list of free time-saving tools make it the perfect manual to REALLY start using LinkedIn.

4 out of 5 stars It is like a users manual   November 9, 2009

I started using LinkedIn more than two years ago because someone had sent me an invitation. At the beginning it was very slow participation, after a little while start improving my usage of it. Sometime this year one of my network participants sends me a comment on this book and I decide to check it out because of recommendations.

I consider this book like a manual for a better usage o LinkedIn. It is a very good book and it will add some knowledge on how can you improve your participation on this great business network. Good reading.

5 out of 5 stars The Bible of LinkedIn: another great book by Jan Vermairen   November 7, 2009

If you are one of the many professionals and business owners who have a profile on LinkedIn then you already understand the importance of online networking in today's global marketplace.

Unfortunately, among those professional some of them create an account and put up a profile but then are not sure what to do next. They may not know the best way to go about making connections. They may do a bit of searching and then wonder what all of the buzz is about. Although getting a strong profile up is an important thing to do, it is only the first step.

For those who are unsure how to the best out the power of LinkedIn to build their brand, increase their network and reach their professional or business goals - this book is for you.

"How to Really use Linkedin" is a user-friendly guide to using one of the most powerful networking tools out there. In his down-to-earth, well-informed style, Jan Vermairein does a fantastic job of clarifying what LinkedIn really is -- and what it isn't. He takes you through all of the features and shows you how to make choices about how to make the tool work for you. He recommends getting clear on your goals so you can make decisions about how the tool can help you reach them. And he does a great job of reminding us that we need to follow the rules of networking and netiquette if we expect to become masterful with this tool.

What I like best about "How to Really use Linkedin" is that Jan clarifies that LinkedIn is just one of many tools in your toolbox - it's not a silverbullet. But it is a powerful tool that is underutilized by many....and as more features are added this may be even more true.

I strongly recommend this book for those who don't want to waste time trying to figure out LinkedIn's myriad of features on their own - Jan makes it simple and easy to get out there and start virtual connecting for professional and business success.

4 out of 5 stars Finally THE answer to WHY I should use LinkedIn!   October 20, 2009

Of course I knew about LinkedIn, but somehow I never seemed to really get on with it. Jan Vermeirens book has given me a clear insight and plenty of useful tips as to WHY I should use LinkedIn even more as a powerful tool. The STRATEGIC use of it (esp. the Gain exercise) has been most helpful.

5 out of 5 stars Inspired to use LinkedIn   October 19, 2009

In reading Jan's book How to Really Use LinkedIn, I must say I'm inspired - and I'm uninspirable! I've never really embraced LinkedIn until now. I now find myself more focused on social (and business) media as I learn more. Jan's book has taught me the value of LinkedIn and how to get the most out of it to enhance my overall networking strategy. His step by step approach is easy to follow. Take it from someone who speaks on the topic of networking, Jan's approaches are on track, get results, and can be implemented immediately. I recommend the book to anyone looking to create more networking gravity both on and off line.

3 out of 5 stars LinkedIn 101   October 12, 2009

"The author is a networking consultant who explains how LinkedIn fits into a larger personal networking strategy. I found the first half valuable as it helped me better understand Linked in. I have particularly benefited from LinkedIn groups, which I never understood before. The second half felt like filler. Once I got the basics, I dove in and started playing around in LinkedIn, which is essential to really get it."
