 Great for the drugs included, but many common meds left out March 11, 2010

I am a 1st year Nursing student & this is the handbook we were instructed to buy. I just did my first day of clinical giving meds (and therefore a med sheet) and was irritated to find that 3 of the drugs I had to document weren't in the Saunders 2010 handbook. These aren't obscure meds, either...sennosides a&b, multivitamin (hello!) and Mafenide (sulfamylon). It was irritating to have to search the Internet for all the information I needed, wondering if the info I did get was even reliable. A classmate from last year has Mosby's 2009 edition and it has all the meds this book does not. Being that this was just my first week of meds, I dread discovering how many more meds are missing from this guide.

Great reference! This handbook gives clear, concise, and practical information making it ideal for today's busy nurse. I've looked at some of the other drug reference books, but I liked the format of Saunders best.
