Kaplan Math November 2, 2009 L. Lou This book was excellent for word problems! I liked the way that the chapters are organized and the practice with quantitative comparison exercises. This book is better than the Barron's math workbook.
Pretty helpful... September 13, 2009 L. Shapiro This book gives a thorough overview of the math topics on the GRE, but I wish it had more practice sets.
Almost perfect August 30, 2009 P. Anderton (Berlin, NH United States) This is a great book because it has tons of practice questions with answers and explanations, and the only thing that ever helps me is practice, practice, practice. However, it doesn't cover coordinate geometry (the beloved y=mx+b etc.) so be sure to get that somewhere before you take the test.
Average August 17, 2009 Rob Jones Nothing great. If you have a hard time in math then do not expect this book to help you at all. It does its own thing sometimes and can be hard to follow. I would suggest watching some related "Math Tutor" videos in addition to this book.
Frustrating! May 27, 2009 Mist (Traveling) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been studying out of this book for about a week and a half now, and I am growing increasingly frustrated. I have been out of college for 11 years now, and bought this book hoping for a thorough review. Unfortunately it glosses over some of the highlights, then gives you a quiz, and later more practice problems. Well, the quiz hits the easy parts, but in trying the practice problems, I find that only some of the practice problems were explained in the review. So why are they testing me on things they didn't explain? If I already knew how to solve the problems, I wouldn't have needed this book in the first place. I also bought the Cliff's Math Review because of it's high reviews, and I do like it on it's own, because it does simplfy things, but it is sometimes challenging to cross-reference the Kaplan book with Cliffs.
