Amazon.com Review
The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector's edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.

Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

Product Description
About three things I was absolutely positive:
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

“I’D NEVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO HOW I WOULD DIE– I’d had reason enough in the last few months –but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. . . . Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of something else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.”
When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.
What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And, it might be too late to turn back. . . .
Deeply seductive and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight will have readers riveted right until the very last page is turned.

5 out of 5 stars A winner!   October 10, 2008
I knew that I was going to like this book after just a few pages. It is very similiar, at first, to something that I am writing now.

When I found out that they have made a movie out of this-I wasn't surprised. It was so good.

It was so well written-I just love all of the details. I was completely wound up in this book.

The reason this is a YA book is because the main character is 17. The language was so educated-the author used the word "incredulous" a lot.

It was so nice to read a sweet love story. The vampire, Edward, has waited decades to meet and love Bella. There love seems enduring and can survive the odds.

5 out of 5 stars Not just for Teens!   October 9, 2008
This book was assigned for our book club. I was skeptical about reading a teen's book about vampires. But, wow was I impressed. Stephenie Meyer does an incredible job making you believe in the unbelievable characters. This book spans the age groups and will definitely become a must-read once the movie comes out.

1 out of 5 stars An Addictive Marshmallow   October 9, 2008
Twilight is the story of the seemingly impossible love between an every day girl and a gorgeous mysterious stranger, who happens to be a 108 years old vampire. Although hardly an original premise, the huge success of this series shows how appealing the idea of forbidden love is, especially for young girls.
I must confess I was just as caught up as everybody else while reading it. Yet overall I found it deeply unsatisfying. Twilight glorifies a kind of romantic love that is not only unrealistic but sets the stage for abuse.
Literary speaking, Twilight is like a huge marshmallow: fluffy and sweet and addictive, yet hardly nutritious and, eaten in excess, bad for you.

I have to admit, the thought of reading a teen lit novel was not too compelling to me. However, the more I heard about this novel, the more interested I became. So, I took the plunge and dove in. I have to give it 4 stars because I believe the author did a fantastic job presenting this novel to teenagers and wrote it in a way that teenagers would understand the novel. It does not get a 5 because in various parts of the book, the author worded phrases that could have been worded a little better for a teenager to understand. Often I caught myself having to reread a sentence myself- trying to understand what exactly the author was trying to portray because the sentence did not make sense. Overall, I liked the book and could not put it down. I hate for a sentence to break up my reading when I am interested in a novel.

Bella Swan, a young somewhat troubled teenage girl, moves to Forks with her Father - Charlie. The relationship between Father and daughter is not strong, however Charlie seems to try to make Bella feel welcome. Bella is reluctant to go to Forks but feels the need to go because her Mother travels often.

The first day of school, Bella notices Edward. He is compelling and the most extraordinary person that Bella has ever seen. He is sitting at a table with a few people, who look the same as he does. Bella notices that Edward is different and is caught in the moment, not being able to take her eyes away from him. Edward's eyes are intriguing, but scary to her. Still, she cannot quit thinking about Edward.

Bella gets the impression that Edward does not like her at all. He will not look at her, nor will he speak to her. Finally, the two of them speak and the connection is there. Bella is so intrigued by Edward that he is in her dreams and thoughts constantly.

Bella knows that Edward is different but cannot place her finger on it. Bella is standing by her truck in the school parking lot, on a snowy day, and a truck is heading straight toward her. Bella is so stunned that she cannot move. Edward somehow manages to get beside her and protect her. Bella swears that he lifted the van off of her. She is unsure though.

Without ruining anymore of the story, it is obvious that Edward is a vampire. Bella finally gets it out of him, but the love story is quite compelling for a teen lit novel. However, there are a few minor details that are disturbing for a child to consider, such as Bella, but overall - it is a good read. I do recommend this book to teens and adults. I could not put the book down and it kept my attention.
