Good steps, but the book can be improved. March 18, 2010 Grace Stephania (Philadelphia PA)
I watched Patti every night Bravo channel airs "Millionare Matchmaker" and I really love to listen to her tips and advices.
She does really point out the best advices as a matchmaker. Not many matchmaker say things that your mom or grandmom usually says over and over again.
On the show, Patti speaks articulately well, like she was a public speaker before this matchmaking gigs.
However, on the books, I am not so impressed with the structure of the content, how it is laid out, and its gramatical structure.
This books feels like a friend is talking to me, rather than a professional expert of matchmaking.
I am surprised that she has a co-author, Lisa Mandell, who helps her established this book, and still cannot deliver
a great, structured book. To me, it feels like someone who hasn't been in a college wrote this book.
It feels very amatuerish to me.
The steps are good tips for both men and women.
Men should always be the hunter and hunt. I totally agree with that!
Patti Stanger Is The Best!!! March 12, 2010 M. Turner I am a big fan of the show!! I wanted to see if I could learn a few new things to help in my dating life. I am very happy with the book and I love how she gets straight to the point and tells it like it is. I would recommend this book to all women of any age that want to gain control of their dating life and discover the type of man that will make a great husband. I love how she explains the difference between a golddigger and a woman that wants a financially secure man to love, for those who confuse the two.
Listen to Patti!!! March 1, 2010 M. Lizzio (NY, USA) Patti really knows her stuff! She gives you a no nonsense approach at finding true love. I don't agree with the people who say she is telling women to hide the real them. It's about putting your very best foot forward in order to attract the kind of man that you want! Some of the advice is a little bit Hollywood but I know that putting Patti's rules into action will make a difference. Her years of experience and wealth of information on what men want is invaluable and great for any women to at least keep in mind.
Very good information and easy to read. February 25, 2010 Pat Good advice and easy to read. I finished it pretty fast. I really like Patti after watching the matchmaker show. She has inspired me to be more open, direct and honest. She is not in any way a pushover when it comes to men. She lets them know exactly what's on her mind and doesn't waste a 10th of a second doing it. She is an inspiration to me.
Great Read February 17, 2010 S. Walker (New Jersey) I have a wonderful man in my life but decided to purchase the book after seeing Patti on the Wendy Williams Show. This book just confirms that I have a great man who really fits the top qualities I want. I think the book is witty, straightforward, and truthful! Looks do matter and some women's standards are just way to high - unless you're perfect how can you expect to attract perfection? And do you want Mr.GQ anyway? Patti mentions that just when you are not in desperate man hunting mode and focused on yourself and your own happiness, that's when he arrives. I remember I had written off men. I said to myself-"I'm done with the lies, I'm just going to be by myself," and just as I said that, I developed a deeper relationship with my friend at that time who is now my boyfriend. Get the book and read it with an open mind. What do you have to lose?
