Crush Review October 30, 2009 Michael R. Savino (Philadelphia) A concise, easy-to-read review of step 2 material. Good for those who do not like the bullet point format of First Aid. I'm only about halfway through but I am getting the sense that it is just about the right level of detail. If anything, maybe shaded to the side of not enough detail. Overall though, a good review.
More accessible than First Aid September 14, 2009 N. Seminara I really like it. It seems like there is less info than First Aid but maybe its just more high yield. I'm going to do a read through of my friends copy of First Aid just to be sure but i really do like this book.
Returned it. July 10, 2009 M. Brewer (Maryland) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Returned this book after I saw everyone using FIRST AID to study. Plus, Im used to the first aid format it worked well for step1
Review books vs textbook November 6, 2008 mshoneydew The book has good information, but it is in paragraph form, which makes it hard to find things quickly. More of a textbook reference than a review book.
Hyped and Overrated October 11, 2008 Sam 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The reason this book is so popular is that its light on information and provides a false sense of accomplishments as readers can finish this book rather quickly. Brochert's other book USMLE Step 2 Secrets is a much better than this and one that I recommend. This book is a joke. Unless you already have a sound base of information, this book is useless. It's too light on information and you will not pass the USMLE Step 2 if you read this book alone. I would definitely purchase First Aid or Step Up as they are better sources especially if you are seeking a comprehensive book to learn from. This book is like a kindergarden version of a Step 2 book. Brochert has enough sense not to make a Step 1 version of this book because he knows he couldn't get away with that. There is a reason Brochert has USMLE Step 2 secrets and all of the platinum vignettes because this book is so light on information.
