Product Description
Master of suspense and #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor returns with his most riveting international thriller yet.

A new administration and a new approach to dealing with America's enemies have left covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath without a job. But when American doctor Julia Gallo is kidnapped in Afghanistan, the terms of her ransom leave the president with only one course of action.

In a dangerous assignment that the United States government will deny any knowledge of, Scot Harvath must secretly infiltrate Kabul's notorious Policharki Prison and free the man the kidnappers demand as ransom - al-Qaeda mastermind, Mustafa Khan.

But when Harvath arrives, he quickly learns that there is more to the kidnapping than anyone dares to admit. And as the subterfuge is laid bare, Harvath must examine his own career of hunting down and killing terrorists, and ask himself if he has what it takes to help one of the world's worst go free.

Brimming with the kind of ripped-from-the-headlines authenticity Brad Thor's internationally bestselling novels are known for, The Apostle doubles down on the blockbuster success of The Last Patriot and reaffirms Thor's status as the master of the political thriller.

Brad Thor and Vince Flynn are two of my favorites. This, sadly, was a big let down. It felt like a throw away. There were no plot twists, only two story lines that were very predictable and straight, only 2 or 3 action sequences and an INCREDIBLY lame ending to the Secret Service agent's story line... so lame it actually made me angry. I'll give him one more chance, but otherwise I'll stick to Flynn, because he's yet to let me down.

3 out of 5 stars Not one of his best   October 31, 2009

Scot Harvath, a staunch opponent of the current President, is called upon by this President to rescue a major donor's daughter from the Taliban.

The President has other problems with the fatal drunk driving accident of one his staff.

Thor interweaves these two plots seamlessly. He has good action scenes but the overall story does not live up to his previous works.

I kept waiting for a action packed plot twisting ending and it just seemed to fizzle.

Being a Brad Thor fan, I was not impressed. It was an ok read but not a page turner

Outstanding! The improved upon equivalent of Tom Clancy for our day and age. Soooo realistic it is worrisome!

Could not put the book down. Very little sleep during the 4 days that it took to finish the book off. GREAT READ!

This was my first experience with a Brad Thor book, and I wasn't all that impressed. I was hoping for more of a James Patterson type thriller and instead got a more military minded story. For a book about action in Afghanistan, there really wasn't a lot of action, just a lot of preparation for action.

The sub-plot was not very interesting and I wasn't really sure why it was put in the book.

All that aside, it was still an interesting enough story to actually get me through the book, but not something that will prompt me to pick up another of Thor's books.
