Product Description In this fascinating book, Gregg Braden merges the modern discoveries of natures patterns (fractals) with the ancient view of a cyclic universe. The result is a powerful model of timefractal timeand a realistic window into what we can expect for the mysterious year 2012 . . . and beyond.
Applying fractal time to the history of the world and life, he proposes that everything from the war and peace between nations to the patterns of human relationships mirror the returning cycles of our past. As each cycle repeats, it carries a more powerful, amplified version of itself.
The key: If you know where to look in the past, you know what to expect when the same conditions return in the present and future. For the first time in print, the Time Code Calculator gives us the tool to do just that! Through easy-to-understand science and step-by-step instructions, discover for yourself:
· How the conditions for 2012 have occurred in the past, and what we can expect when they repeat!
· The hot dates that hold the greatest threats of war, and the greatest opportunities for peace!
· How Earths location in space triggers cycles of spiritual growth for humans!
· Your personal time codes for the key events of business, relationships, and change in your life!
· How each cycle carries a window of opportunitya choice pointthat allows us to select a new outcome for the returning pattern!
· What the 1999 ice cores from Antarctica reveal about past cycles of climate, global warming, Earths protective magnetic fields, and what these things mean for us today!
In a powerful yet comprehensible style, Gregg gives us a way to make sense of the rapid, and often dramatic, change of todays world.

Not much Reality to it. November 8, 2009 F. Baker (minnesota) Several others have already quite eloquently pointed out mathematical errors in the Time Code Formula and errors dealing with Nostradamus so I won't go there. I would like to point out many scientific errors the author has made.
However, in reference to Nostradamus, why are his aimless rantings never used to predict what will actually happen in the future, rather than forecasting what has already occurred in the past? In other word, why are all his `predictions" made after the fact? Why were his quatrains not used to predict 9/11 before the event?
On page 37, the author makes note of a "deluge that is believed to have been the Biblical Flood". There is ample geological evidence that localized flooding has occurred over parts of the Earth in the past and continues to occur today, but certainly no evidence of a world wide deluge as reported in the Bible and this book. The quantity of water needed and where it came from and where it went has been covered in detail in other writings. No need to repeat what others have detailed, only to say that no scientific evidence exists for a world wide flood.
Page 38: the zodiac. Twelve constellations in the zodiac? Actually, No!!! Thirteen (Ophiuchus) or more (up to 24) constellations actually make up the zodiac ([...]). And even if twelve constellations make up the zodiac, the constellations are not evenly distributed (they are not the same size - look at tiny cancer and the much larger Taurus) and do not each cover 30 degrees. The Earth does not spend the same period of time in each zodiac sign.
P 50: The estimated age of the Earth is 4.7 billion years, not the 4.5 billion as stated by the author. But then, what's 200 million years. The Brahma age of the Earth (given as 4,320,000,000 years) is off by almost 450 million years, hardly close.
P 73: ".. cross the threshold of the Milky Way's equator in the 2012 timeframe ...". Does the solar system bob up and down through the Milky Way? Yes, on a cycle that lasts some 60 million years. It is almost impossible to say the sun and Earth will cross the galactic plane on Dec 21, 2012 as stated. Science doesn't have the exact position of the solar system mapped in the galaxy accurately enough to make that assessment. And even if the Earth did cross at that exact time, it has done so, many times in the past with no apparent ill effects.
p 90: In reference to the Great Pyramid, it is stated that it is located at the "geographic center of the land mass of the planet". I'm not sure what that means, but it looks to me (if I interpret this correctly) as if the center would be considerably further north, across the Asian land mass. Regardless, accepting that, earlier in that same paragraph, the author states,"The pyramid's height is 5449 inches, the same number as the average height of the Earth's land mass above sea level". First of all, that is really a strange unit of measure, why 5449 inches, why not its equivalent of 454.08 feet. The USGS (United States Geological Society) states that the average elevation of the land mass above sea level is about .6 miles or about 3200 feet. Now, who ya gonna believe???
On page 102 is where the author clearly shows total lack of knowledge on something so elementary as his usage of negative exponents. He used two negative exponent numbers in two totally different ways, neither of them correct.
p 102: an attosecond, one-quintillionth of a second IS NOT 1 followed by 18 zeros as the author states. One followed by 18 zero seconds would be equivalent to about 32 billion years (31.69 billion). One attosecond is a decimal point followed by 17 zeros then the number 1, as in .000000000000000001.
p 102: Planck TIme ( 10 to the -43 power) IS NOT "minus 10 with 43 zeros after it". That would be a HUGE negative number and not Planck Time which is a VERY VERY small decimal number. Planck TIme is a decimal point followed by 42 zeros then the number one as in .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 and it is not a negative value.
Let me try to show how totally wrong the author is in these two assessments of negative exponents. Let's assume your bank sent you a bank statement stating that your current checking account balance was 1 x 10 to the negative second dollars (Amazon won't allow me to use actual exponential notation with a -2 superscript). I know the bank wouldn't give your balance in this way, just bear with me and humor me. In the first case, the author would assume his balance was 100 dollars. In the second case he would assume a balance of -1000 dollars or 1000 dollars in the hole) In reality, the bank balance would be 1 cent or .01 dollars.
p 106: ".. is that energy appears to be moving away from one place in the center of the universe." There is no center to the universe. The Big Bang created the universe and the space that the universe is expanding into (as the universe expands the space is created), but there is no center to the universe.
p 109: "The spiral vortex that drains water in our sink one direction in the Northern Hemisphere and the opposite way in the Southern Hemisphere". Totally wrong. Just a myth. Is there a Corollas Effect? Most assuredly for large fluid systems (air or water), but not for small systems such as a sink, bathtub or toilet. It is how water flows into the sink, etc., that determines how it will flow out. Is the faucet off center just a bit, or is there some obstruction in the faucet, is the bowl perfectly symmetrical? Water does not drain in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere. Countless scientific web sites verify this.
Considering everything, the Time Code Formula errors, the reliance on astrology and the nonsense of Nostradamus, and his errors in basic science I would rate this book as much less than one star. Further more, how can an ancient Mayan civilization "know" what the future holds. I'm not saying they were stupid or ignorant just that they didn't have the ability or means to accomplish all the author is giving them credit for.
Interesting book October 24, 2009 C. Reed (Tri-state) This book is destined to become Gregg Braden's classic work. In this time of such obvious global change, Gregg gives us the tools to grasp the cycles that are playing out and the wisdom to understand the vital role each one of us plays. The time code calculator I found fascinating, the observations from a scientist enlightening and the uplifting view of 2012 a true gift from a great teacher.
Clears up the 2012 mystery October 11, 2009 L.P. I've heard a lot about the coming 2012 prohecies of doom and gloom but this book gives me hope, that 2012 is really about the past repeating itself, that there may be upheavels but out of that will come a new transformation for the better, and certain things happen time and time again on earth and they can be predicted by using scientific methods also.
Gregg Braden is very readable and he leaves no stone unturned in this book so even if you doubt the evidence he provides, you will still have a good read and also will have a more thorough understanding about the hype surrounding 2012.
Fractal Time September 30, 2009 Deborah Harrington (fredericksburg, Texas) This book didn't say anything new about the 2012 theory, but the a fractal time aspect was very interesting. If I was more mathematiclly inclined, I know I could put the theory to good use. But alas, I am not.
Fractal Time September 11, 2009 Julian J. Spalding As always, unique treatment of unique subject matter, but just a bit too technical for the "average" reader, if there is such a thing when it comes to Gregg Braden!
