| Customer Reviews: Best Investment I Made November 7, 2009 Christina Rudawski (Larned KS USA) I purchased Test Success while studying for the EPPP Psychology Licensing Exam. Of all the money I spent on test preparation resources, Dr. Bernstein's book was the best resource I purchased. I immediately decreased my stress level by utilizing the exercises in the book. I was able to be more realistic about my study plan, relax, be more open to the practice exams which I had been avoiding, and most importantly to open up to my study group about what I was experiencing. Consequently we have turned into a real support group! This book is a must read for anyone facing a professional licensing exam. It reads well and the exercises help a person get back in touch with themselves. Additionally, the exercises can be easily learned and remembered, can be utilized during the test for achieving calmness, confidence and focus which will lead to success. The strategies presented in this book can be employed in any stressful situation which is an added benefit. Think of it as a book of essential life tools. I highly recommend this book!
A work from psychologist Ben Bernstien giving readers the advice they need to approach examinations more calmly October 12, 2009 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) Tests are more than a evaluation of one's knowledge. "The Workbook for Test Success: How to Be Calm, Confident, & Focused On Any Test" is a work from psychologist Ben Bernstien giving readers the advice they need to approach examinations more calmly, keep their cool, and do what they need to get better performance on test where freaking out so often leads to worse scores. "The Workbook for Test Success" is of high recommendation to any faced with major tests or educators who want to help their students succeed.
Everyone Who Has Ever Felt Nervous Before Anything Should Buy This Book October 5, 2009 Suzin Green (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a truly wonderful book. It's packed full of excellent strategies for mastering the art of test-taking and overcoming performance anxiety. It is also extremely reader-friendly. Jam-packed with information and techniques, it reads like an action novel. I actually found it hard to put down. I suspect no other test prep book on the market can make that claim. I also think that while this book speaks directly to people preparing for tests, exams, interviews, etc., ultimately, it's about mastering the greatest test of all: daily life.
Students, Teachers & Parents - This Book's For You! September 21, 2009 David Martin Why didn't I have this book when I was helping my students and my own children pass tests? Or when I was faced with tests myself? It would have made things so much easier. How often I tripped myself up in all sorts of ways when I was studying so that I never let myself really learn the material well. And then when it came test time, oh brother! Call it nerves, negative thoughts, whatever. But Bernstein offers ways to deal with all that. And that's what other test taking books and courses don't speak to. He shows how to study, how to take tests and most importantly how to succeed. His techniques, which are just so sensible, aren't hard, don't take months to learn, and can be practiced while you're also concentrating on learning the material for the test. And what he writes about doesn't just apply to written tests. His methods have definitely helped my stage performances and even, I'm happy to say, my tennis game.
Every student needs this book! September 17, 2009 Jim Daniels (Oceanside) I loved this book--I think every student in high school or college should have it. It explains in a really easy to follow way, how to prepare to take any kind of test, and how to get better scores!
