The Elements of Style (Original Edition) October 18, 2009 Zhang Yingying (Macao, China) This is an excellent book for writting. I strongly recommend it. The book has been shipped with good quality.

The original edition is not typeset, and that makes it very distracting. You can tell which typewriter was used to do original and edited pages. The letters wave up and down, for instance, 'c's are low, and 'u's are high on some pages.
I highly recommend getting a typeset edition, if one is available.
Unbelievable May 18, 2009 Gary W. Allison (Detroit, MI) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I do not know why I wasn't ever told about this book! My professors never mentioned it in college. Writing partners never said a word. Editors I have worked with failed to give a hint. I am disappointed with all of them.
This book is a must have for anyone who is serious about communicating with the written word. It makes every other book on writing worthless and overwritten. Every word in this masterpiece makes perfect sense. I do not know how I managed to write one meaningful sentence without The Elements Of Style. Don't be a hack. Get this book!
The essential book May 11, 2009 Chris Gregor (Great Barrington, MA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Planning to be stranded on a dessert island or to send a child off to college (the intellectual equivalent of same)? This is the essential book; more valuable than a Swiss army knife or dorm fridge. The "little book" has more meat and big ideas about clear thinking and clear writing than you will find in one-hundred "How to write" books. E.B. White was a genius and his genius lives here in succinct gorgeous prose. I have read it scores of times since it was assigned to me in college and my tattered copy still sits aside my keyboard as a roadblock to the myriad pitfalls of poor communication. Buy several copies and distribute them to your friends and relatives!
