Product Description This skillfully researched book focuses on how a small socio-political American elite seeks to establish its control over the very basis of human survival, the provision of our daily bread. Control the food and you control the people. This is no ordinary book about the perils of GMO. Engdahl takes the reader inside the corridors of power, into the backrooms of the science labs, behind closed doors in the corporate boardrooms. The author reveals a World of profit-driven political intrigue, government corruption and coercion, where genetic manipulation and the patenting of life forms are used to gain worldwide control over food production. The book is an eye-opener, a must-read for all those committed to the causes of social justice and World peace.

A feast of corruption and betrayal in the name of Genetics (Eugenics) August 15, 2009 Eternal Howl (KS, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A disturbing exposé on the manipulation of a few to gain global dominance through something we often take for granted: Food.
Engdahl offers up a banquet of information pertaining to the relationship between eugenics, genetics, the impact and importance genetic modification of our food is having on our society on a micro and macro level. For those that are pro-GM, this is not a book written by someone with an axe to grind on interfering with nature and perceived scientific progress, but rather, this is a well researched volume of information that explains how the likes of the Rockefellers (and their 'non-profit' organisations), Kissinger and the big agri-corps manipulated people and produce by promising great results, covering up bad ones and then turning poor farmers into serfs.
This exposure shows in a nutshell how and why wealthy American Elites were able to manipulate the government into burying research, backing their disguised eugenics ideas and churning out new organisations to change the face of agriculture into agribusiness. Doesn't affect you because you're not a farmer? You eat: therefore it does. Not American? The information put forth in this research affects almost every living thing on the face of this planet and it's about to get worse.
There is too much in this book to relay in a simple review.
This is an absolute must read and I have not seen it appear for sale at traditional bookstores. Too hot to handle?
Why this book deserves five stars and it's author a nobel prize July 31, 2009 Asgeir Valur Sigurdsson (Iceland) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
MONSANTO - IN MEMORIAM CONCERNING THE FORESEEABLE END OF A ONCE BLOOMING COMPANY RUN BY BUMS FOR STUPIDITY'S SAKE.
Why have so few conspiracy writers and noteable childrens'books writers such as Astrid Lindgen been given nobel prize in litterature? Because there have been so few suggestions in the past!
One of the many reasons for why it was so easy to defeat the NWO and why the NWO began to undergo such a fast collapse , is because to be considered a respected NWO supporter , you had to be a supporter for so many things openly and covertly that you would end up having serious difficulties in coming to terms with your spiritual and material beliefs.
One time you are told to support this and the other that , and on top of it you're told you're an accepteable person if you go along the herd and that you're not if you don't.
This is particularly true of Monsanto and their bums. Monsanto was run by bums , owned by bums , and created by bums , very much like Iceland's Orff. These bums wanted to be treated like Kings , and one easy way for a bum to be noticed is how he desires to be treated exactly like that.
And once in a king's position , the bum looses all sense of responsibility , common sense and self - awareness and in certain extreme cases , even self - identity when it comes to deal with current issues.
To be considered eligible to work for a company like Monsanto you have to be a bum and if you are not accepted consider that as a blessing!
Genetically modified food was extremely popular by the start of this century , over 10 years ago or until people lost faith in it five years ago.
Five years since the political life of Monsanto has turned it into an endangered species which is still a plague even though it exists in few numbers.
Monsanto is now the world's most unpopular and least respected corporation , and for a reason.
It's so unpopular that it is only a matter of time before an intelligent person or persons decide to shut down it's headquarters.
Monsanto wanted to take over all crops on this planet , and to aid the aluminium and other corporations in the elimination of the soil of those plants.
Because the blood - line of those who started the Monsanto bussiness was so cursed , however , no dream of their's has ever come true since in a manner that has been of benefit to the average citizen when he existed 10 years ago.
Because Monsanto spent ruthlessly every money they got they have nothing now which they can use to aid themselves now that they're on their way out of the agriculture bussiness.
The people behind Monsanto feared agriculture more than anything else , and no matter how they express themselves , it's over for them.
They face a hard time ahead on the street begging for a job instead of getting one instantly because they hadn't been smart enough to avoid applying when picked up by Monsanto's staff.
When the bums had been put in charge over Monsanto they began to put all kinds of people around themselves they thought were too smart or too stupid to take notice of the fact that they were really bums.
So they had one final route of escape which didn't prove to be particularly sucessful either - and that was to convince people that you can't remove the corrupt genes that have been installed into a plant or an animal through transgenics.
People had been sold the lie that genetically modified hybrid terminator seeds had been planted , when it was in fact mere transgenics at work.
The idea was to genetically modify humans so that they'd become less resistant and thus more easily controlleable.
Everyone participated , almost every country , and every conceiveable crop was attacked , and every resister was treated with utmost contempt , for the few years Monsanto had got left before it was time to break it up and tear it into pieces.
The war on the small and independent farmer has been thoroughly explored in the most extremely advanced , modern day conspiracy accounts and for a reason - the small and independent farmer had the power to feed a nation , which the controllers or manipulators didn't have , and that is why they took all the rights the small and independent farmers had - it had all to do with envy and greed and sometimes not even money.
Today as Monsanto hear about this critical review they will be too weak to resist , because they have all consumed portions of the material they put into the plants they thought they were helping to eliminate by means of modification.
The good news is you can take a genetically modified plant and through healing and restructuring return it back to normal. It'll copy itself and send itself in the form of a message to other copies of itself so they can also absorb it's change , and that is how you get the plants back.
Monsanto knew this , because DNA works like a drawing and all you need to change the drawing is an eraser.
The days of Monsanto are over , because the glory and madness that was Monsanto was a house made of sand built upon a sand which had only a few days or weeks to wait for before the rain would come.
The little children who built the sand house made solely of sand and nothing else didn't even care when the rain drops started tearing the house apart.
Then there was the reply of the small and independent farmer to the attack of the invadors - counterattack!
And those the invaders felt to be their enemy turned out to be absolutely unbeateable , and so the independent , small farmer is winning in the war.
The independent , small farmer can tell the enemy that hungry , they cannot fight and therefore resist him - and that is how he wins this simple war.
This is a war on food , in where food is used as a weapon by two opposing forces. What do you do? Being gentle , you provide the attacking sides with the weapons you think will give the winning side absolute advantage over the loosing side - information on how to make the GMO's grow back to normal , and clues on how to defeat the enemy. The enemy in turn , rather than surrendering , is utterly defeated and crushed - BUT AT THE RIGHT MOMENT!
That is why Monsanto was so easily crusheable!
The NWO is really another translation of the word stupidity! And once you know this it gets even easier to defeat the enemy now that the enemy is on the loosing side. This book deserves not only five stars , but it's author deserves a nobel prize in litterature.
Before You Eat July 1, 2009 A. Criscuolo (CT -United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Seeds of Destruction is a presentation of the historical roots of the food and pharmaceutical companies in the quest to create new and better types of food. The reasons behind the creation of the foods by the wealthy elite are almost more frightening than the foods themselves. Food as a weapon of war , population control , and suppression of fertility in "undesirable" populations. Read it before you see FOOD, INC.
Well-researched and well-written, it makes you think twice when you pick up that item in our overflowing supermarkets. What price have we paid for cheap food?
It's subtitle should be Seeds of Deception March 4, 2009 Anne Mendenhall 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Seeds of Destruction; The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation by F. William Engdahl - is not especially well written or edited, and there are occasional proofing errors, but the information conveyed is astonishing. My consistent reaction was `O my God, how could this be happening?'
I am no friend of the so-called green revolution which has marginalized, impoverished, and caused death by suicide of many farmers, nor of factory farming, and certainly not of genetic engineering, the gene revolution, which has been pushed on the public through a consistent campaign of lies, but I was unaware that the Rockefeller brothers and their foundation have been the main power behind all these developments and of their consistent goal to control the global human food supply while claiming that their aim is to reduce hunger in poor countries, while at the same time the real aim is to reduce world population. This latter goal is to be achieved with biological weapons, specifically `pharm crops' aka farmaceuticals such as genetically modified corn or a common vaccine with a genetically engineered and undisclosed contraceptive gene. This begs the question: was HIV created for the same purpose? The author doesn't touch this, but he does tell us that the myth of overpopulation was created by the Rockefellers to further their interest in eugenics. The US's 'altruistic' food aid is surplus genetically modified crops, this plus intentional smuggling is one of the chief means of achieving widespread distribution, replacing locally grown and adopted seeds.
Henry Kissinger is a Rockefeller protege [no surprise], as was Jimmy Carter, the Bush family, and many others. Bill Clinton went along with the Rockefeller genetically modified food and World Trade Organization schemes, both designed to control the world via economic rather than military means. Rockefeller protege Zbigniew Brzezinski is one of President Obama's economic advisors. We need to keep our eyes open.
The chief value of the book is the many years of research. The author has turned up much generally unknown information. I highly recommend that everyone who wants to know who is pulling our strings and why give this book a read. Much more is revealed than what I have noted.
A MUST-READ Chiller February 4, 2009 Justin Time (USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
WARNING: If you are timid and faint of heart, do not read "SEEDS of DESTRUCTION" by F. William Engdahl. Instead, go back to sleep, and take comfort in being lied to by American corporations and U.S. governmental agencies. After all, ignorance is bliss.
Otherwise, "SEEDS of DESTRUCTION" is a MUST-READ book for persons seeking truth and knowledge about our food system, related health, and world control. Engdahl's book reads like a fictional thriller. Sadly, however, it is a truthful and chilling account of the evolution of our food supply chain; from family farms to Agribusiness conglomerates.
Americans will read this book with humility over the impact a dummied-down America has on ushering in a "New World Order" via "FREE Markets" that serve to trample constitutional rights, liberties, and FREEDOMS in clouds of lies and propaganda.
While most Americans were fast asleep, or on the treadmill of life, corporate lobbyists were fast at work wining and dining U.S. congressmen to deregulate corporate America. IN FACT, the same era of mass de-regulation that failed the banking industry, and is costing American taxpayers TRILLIONS of BAIL OUT dollars, is also responsible for grave dangers in our food system that is going, going, gone global.
Engdahl assembles many wide- and far-reaching historical aspects of the evolution of Agribusiness, including vertical integration of food systems, milk containing "recombinant bovine growth hormone" ("rBGH"), foods containing genetically modified organisms (GMO), factory farming and related pollution, the use of surreptitious, heavy-handed enforcement of "patent" rights over food, the common threads that link the few large international corporations to global control of food systems, the interrelationship between Agribusiness and U.S. foreign policy, and the myopic, autocratic decisions made by behemoth corporations and bureaucracies.
Sadly, the collateral damage is the health of consumers where Agribusinesses provide few, if any, FREEDOM of choice in grocery stores, and at our dinner tables. The winners in this mess: a few, faceless conglomerates, and women with breast cancer who can save a postage stamp by enclosing two thank you notes in one envelope to the same company; one for unlabeled rBGH-milk, and the second for Agent Orange sprayed on their brothers who fought courageously in Vietnam to defend American FREEDOMS.
Hang on tight, or launch your own letter-writing campaign, because Agribusiness and the misnomer "Green Revolution" is Corporate America's ONE WORLD VIEW over the planet's food system, and the means for controlling the world's population.
