Product Description The Relaxation/Healing CD gently guide listeners into a deep state of relaxation using guided imagery to reduce anxiety and connect with an inner peace. The CD can be used with Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster, the best-selling book buy Peggy Huddleston. Or, the CD can be used for general relaxation, as it never mentions surgery. Use it to lessen stress, stop tension headaches and migraines, fall asleep faster, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain and lessen the side-effects of chemotherapy.

Healing Tape January 19, 2010 J. Mueller This is one of the best tapes I have ever used. Bought it 2 weeks before my first replacement hip surgery and used it two and three times a day, before during and after surgery. It really helped me get through a hard time, as I hadn't been in a hospital since 1960! It creates a state of very deep relaxation.
excelent!! December 3, 2009 Barbara A. Lobatos Avila (CALEXICO, CA, US) It's been really helpfull in my preparation for surgery!!
If your having surgery is a must!
Preparing for Surgery October 4, 2009 Barbara Ann Dwyer (Boston, MA) Peggy Huddleston's book and cd on Relaxation/Healing was phenomenal. My previous surgical experiences have been devastatingly negative and their outcomes have been a long, painful recovery filled with many complications.
This book has given me an entirely different prospective regarding the surgical experience and recovery. This approach offered by Ms. Huddleston is a must read for anyone
having any type of surgery.
The mind body experience is so powerful, you will be amazed not only at how you respond pre op, but post op recovery and prognosis have excelled to a level, never thought imaginable. Thank you
Wish I didn't buy it September 29, 2009 Nicki Mom (Maynard, MA) This meditation cd didn't help me prepare for surgery at all. It is very boring and monotonous and repetitive. I am sorry I bought it. It leaves a lot to be desired. I really tried to use it a lot but I just couldn't get in to it. I highly recommend Melody Beattie's cd: the Language of letting Go from Hazelden. That is what I ended up using and it helped me to relax a lot and really worked for me and it is a much better cd. It is also available on tape.
not worth it for me. the usual new age "feel yourself relax" stuff. February 21, 2009 TD (USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was stressed about upcoming surgery and concerned about lying around trying to heal and stay upbeat afterwards, so I thought I'd give this a try. In short, it didn't do anything for me and I wish I'd saved my money and time.
The CD that they call "instructional" is really just a long interview with Peggy H. that serves as an ad for her methods, like a long audio infomercial, without any actual instruction that I remember. Plus, printed INSIDE the CD packaging is a note that says you must use the CD along WITH her book. I had seen that there was a book too, but they're not sold together and I'm glad I didn't bother with that as well.
The other CD is clearly a digitized tape, since they didn't bother to edit out the audio saying "side A of the tape has background sounds" etc. as opposed to "side B." At least it's broken into 2 tracks, but really all you get on Track 1 is the same recorded talking as Track 2 without the simulated heartbeat sound, which I found corny and distracting. As for the talking, I suppose it's kind of relaxing, but it's just the usual "feel yourself relaxing" aimed at different body parts, with a little "think of a happy time" type stuff. Her voice is soothing without being syrupy, but probably some calming classical music would have about the same effect on me. I guess I was hoping for something more insightful or inspirational, but it obviously doesn't work for me as it does for others. I just thought I should add my take since the other reviews are all so positive.
