| Customer Reviews: Great January 20, 2010 Matoya T. Brown (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) I just received this book this morning, and I bought it yesterday. I also bought another book from this company because I needed them for my reading class. Both books were very cheap, and the total was less than the cost of one book from my school. I got one day shipping because I needed those books for my next class, and that doubled the price of the two books but they were still cheaper than the books from my school. Also, they were new just like they said.
Random words December 4, 2007 jps (los angeles) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is okay if you want to learn different sets of random words. However, if you are looking for a textbook or something with a more holistic approach, buy any of Norman Lewis's books.
A Very Simple Way To Improve Your Vocabulary September 25, 2007 LEGO (Marin County, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As someone who learns English as the second language, I want to mention that this book provides a great tool for improving the vocabulary. The excercises are designed to be effective in memorizing each new word that you learn.
Well Written Vocabulary book January 18, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I used this book for a remedial reading class at my community college. It is very well written and I like the execises in the book. It is a good book for people with weak vocabularies. I found the book and the words to be very easy. I knew most of the words in the book. I got an A on almost every vocab test from that book. I think the author should use more challenging words.
