Product Description
Test yourself before the ARDMS tests you! Abdominal Sonography Review illuminates the facts and principles on which you will be tested, hones your test-taking skills, and reveals your strengths and weaknesses by exam topic. Based on the abdomen specialty exam outline published by ARDMS, this best-selling review by Cindy Owen and Dr. Edward Grant contains 550 registry-like questions together with instructive illustrations, answers, clear explanations, and quick references for further study. More than 50 image-based cases prepare you to tackle the images on the exam. Coverage includes liver, biliary tree, pancreas, urinary tract, abscesses, scrotum, prostate, spleen, retroperitoneum, abdominal vasculature, GI tract, neck, superficial structures, and instrumentation (all in the same proportion as the examination itself).

Why are our mock exams so popular and effective? Because they contain the same kinds of thought-provoking questions you will find on the real exam! Approved for 12 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credit by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS).

5 out of 5 stars Passed on first try!   May 30, 2009

I think this was a great book to use for my review. I in no way would say that using this book solely will guarantee a passing score but in combination with Roger C. Sanders "Exam Preparation for Diagnostic Ultrasound" and Edelman's online X-zone questions I think you will be well on your way. I think the key to passing the abdomen exam is to test your knowledge with as many different questions as you possibly can. In my own opinion, I thought the test was harder than I expected and again, because of the vast amount of information that there is to cover when it comes to the abdomen, I would recommend testing yourself with as many different types of questions as possible! Overall this is a great start if your frustrated and don't know where to begin!

3 out of 5 stars abd exam   April 20, 2009

This review book is great for abd review but the RDMS exam that I took was completely different. There were maybe 10% or less questions on the RDMS that were covered in the review book. The RDMS exam has lots of pediatric and other ultrasound questions that the review book didn't cover.

5 out of 5 stars Davies ARDMS ABdomen review book   March 10, 2009
J. Seda (Davie, FLA)
i bought this because i was going in to take abdomen for the 2nd time and i didn't want to make it a 3rd. i had a lot of questions on my registry test that were very similar to these questions. i like how it is organized by organ/body systems also so you can conquer one part at a time. GREAT INVESTMENT!!

5 out of 5 stars Helpful for studying   February 22, 2009
Steven M. Guillotel (Eagan, MN USA)
This book has many very helpful test questions. I really like that there are explanations with most of the answers as well in case you are confused on why something is the correct answer. These are questions that could possibly be on the board exam, though they may not be the same word for word, they are at least similar to what you might see.

3 out of 5 stars Too Simple   November 10, 2008
Cherish L. Hockey (Colorado)
Yes, this book has tons of questions and covers lots of material. However, the questions were too simple and didn't really make you think too hard about the answers. The actual board exam requires very involved thought processes and this book just doesn't make you work that hard. I failed the test twice using this book as my main test practice study aide.
