Amazon.com Review This is serious stuff. The most widely used medical text in the world and the hypochondriac's bible, the Merck has the lowdown on the vast expanse of human diseases, disorders and injuries, as well as their symptoms and recommended therapy. It's intended for physicians and medical students, but though the type is tiny and the language technical, the Merck's a valuable volume for anyone with more than a passing interest in bodily ills.
Product Description The world's most widely used medical reference now features expanded clinical focus on each category of disorder, as well as more specific guidance on patient examinations. The thoroughly revised and updated 18th Edition is packed with essential information on diagnosing and treating medical disorders to help medical professionals deliver the best care to their patients. This handy, compact guide was written by a team of clinicians for everyday use. Designed for maximum clinical utility, the new Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy makes it easy to find the right information, right when it is needed. It is a must-have for medical students, residents, practicing physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. Featuring: - All new "approach" chapters

this book is worth the price November 4, 2009 R. Bridges (Asheville NC) This book was purchased to replace the one my father in law used during his practice. He was happy with the price of the book, the promptness of the delivery and it had the same format as his previous book. Thank you
MERCK MANUAL OF MEDICINE September 20, 2009 Carole S. Kirkpatrick (EUGENE OR) I WAS DISAPPOINTED MILDLY. THE PREVIOUS VERSION I HAD
WAS HEAVIER, GRANTED, BUT MUCH MORE READABLE AND MORE
ILLUSTRATIONS WHICH I PREFER. THE PRINT IS VERY SMALL, TOO,
SO ALL IN ALL I DONT FIND IT USER FRIENDLY ALTHO INFORMATION
IS ALL CORRECT . CK
Great September 2, 2009 S. Helene Marie (GUA) Everything was great, it was on time and in the conditions I expected it to be
Merck Manual August 25, 2009 S. Falcone (Groton, CT USA) The manual is divided by the human body system (i.e. derm, neuro, muscle, etc.). This is both good and bad. Good if you know what system is causing the problem, but not good if you're not sure. I have a biology background so I thought I'd be able to understand a lot of it, but it is quite technical in the verbiage. It's better than the internet because it describes the rarity or commonness of the disease/ailment, which if you've ever googled an ailment you know how scary that can be! It is succinct and not dramatic. I can definitely relate to why doctors seem so calm, because the technical side is very matter-of-fact. Overall, I'm glad I own it and would recommend it; however, I will definitely supplement it with other medical books.
a must tool August 23, 2009 Israel Olivolo (CA) If you are in health care in any of the many fields there isn't any way you can know everything
and that is where this tool is a absolute treasure. it's small and it is accredited and accurate.
