Slow Cooker August 17, 2009 Alvan Balent (Fort Lauderdale, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The book ordered with the Slow Cooker and was a big disappointment. This is a fancy hard cover big picture book with little to offer in slow cooking. I would like to return but receipt lost. Will give it away. Fooled again by the write and cover.
Great satisfaction with product and service June 21, 2009 Monica Hiler (Blairsville, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book contains many recipes that will be helpful for busy homemakers, mothers, and those working outside the home. Most of the ingredients called for are those already in the pantry. I was very pleased with the prompt delivery and the pristine condition of the book. I highly recommend the book and the vendor to others.
Just another pretty face April 1, 2009 Marcia Burns (San Luis Obispo, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Nicely written and photographed, but no outstandingly different recipes. Not Your Mother's Slow-Cooker Cookbook is more innovative and comprehensive.
Good recipes but not for daily cooking March 27, 2009 Janelle (D.C.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you buy alot of specialty foods or have alot of time to do prep work then maybe this book is for you, but I've had it for a few weeks now and haven't attempted to make one recipe yet because many of the recipes call for unique ingredients that you'll use one time, or requires a fair amount of prep work. I've made many cooking light recipes before and have never really been disappointed so WHEN I do get the time to make something from this book I don't doubt that it'll taste good BUT for a slow cooker recipe book more time should be paid to reducing overall prep time and including recipes that have more common ingredients.
Good Recipes March 25, 2009 Dorothy Bigsby (Middleburg, KY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I find myself often doing "stew" type slow cooking and picked up this recipe book to expand some more.
Good recipes and can be made without too much preparation. 30-40 minutes for the most part, and I usually prepare it the night before and leave in the fridge. Turn it on in the AM and have a good meal waiting when I am ready.
