5 out of 5 stars Learning Lots   November 18, 2009
S. C. Y. Wan (USA)
I'm currently taking a elementary Spanish class. Unfortunately, the majority of students are far more advanced, whereas I'm a clean slate. Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Verb Tenses has helped me to catch up with the rest of the class. Now I don't feel completely lost. The author explains many concepts more precisely and clearly than my professor does, not to the mention the humor! I would suggest all Spanish beginners to buy this book.

5 out of 5 stars Great Spanish Book   November 8, 2009

This is a great book for, well, practicing Spanish Verbs. LOTS of exercises! Lots of verbs. It's probably for the advanced beginner, you need to know some Spanish vocabulary. It's a moderate sized book, so easy enough to carry around for practicing Spanish any place I can sit and write, and verbs continue to challenge me. No audio, of course, but there are other products for that.

4 out of 5 stars Practice Makes Perfect Spanish Verb tenses   October 25, 2009
Donald I. Muck (Olympia WA)
In the short time that I have used the book, it has proven to be one of the better foreign language books that I have ever used. The exercises are very helpful and having the answers are a plus, so one does not get led astray.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent refresher   September 5, 2009
James B. Mckelvey (Belhaven, NC USA)
This is an excellent refresher for people who have the Spanish basics and want to review. Very well organized and fun to work with. I use it almost every day and am reawakening many memories from Spanish classes of yore.

5 out of 5 stars The Perfect Companion to the Famous "501 Spanish Verbs"!   August 11, 2009

When English-speaking students encounter the verb system of the Romance Languages, they tend to become quite disoriented.

Dorothy Richmond has produced such a work with this hefty, yet economical volume. You get ample practice, heaps of examples and clear explanations, tense-by-tense. That organizing principle makes it the perfect book to have open on your desk and your general Spanish textbook, whatever it is.

This book is perfect for students who have just completed their first year of Spanish -- as a comprehensive review of the Spanish verb system. It could be useful for students during their first year, but I think only with the guidance of a teacher. There is simply a lot to absorb.

The next step for most students, after a comprehensive review, is to go into depth in the areas that typically present residual problems.

Sincerely,

Eric W. Vogt, Ph.D.
