Brilliant Reference for PBL Exams November 13, 2009 J. Short This book is absolutely priceless for medical students on a PBL curriculum. As you know, often times lab tests and values are thrown at you with no prior background. This book tells you the purpose of each lab, when you may want to use it, normal values, and a full DDx if values are high or low. A great tool that is comprehensive but not overwhelming. More emphasis and pages are appropriately devoted to the more common laboratory tests, providing the necessary information.
Interpreting Medical Test Results September 7, 2009 DonS. (Michigan, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent referance for interpreting medical test results for someone with or without a medical background. Provides a brief explanation of each test and lists likely cause('s) of abnormal results. Also lists related tests that may in combination provide a more detailed picture.
Great Book September 6, 2009 K. Dawson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great easy reference to diagnostic values & interpretations. The only flaw is that it is sometimes not completely comprehensive. I bought it for med school, and although I find it really helpful, one of my professors isn't quite fond of it. And, keep in mind, reference ranges are different for nearly all hospitals, so the ones in the book may not be the ones you should use.

The book came quickly and as-advertised. Not in great shape, but it was only listed as "fair." Overall, a good transaction.
