Amazon.com Review Anyone attending a Messiah sing-along is most likely to fit in when using this old favorite edition. The musicological work has been superseded by Watkins Shaw's edition for Novello, but his piano reductions are idiosyncratic. This piano-vocal score has no measure numbers or rehearsal figures, but the reduction is pianistic in scope. The choral lines are in smaller type but are workable. The price is of course also highly attractive. Listeners who truly love this work may be interested in the full orchestral score--also at a great price--from Dover, edited by Alfred Mann. --William R. Braun

i have two copies on my music shelf! May 2, 2009 C. Fernandez extra copy is for family members who want to join in on the fun. i can't sing in choirs like i used to, but i still bust this out during the holidays, and sing along to any part when it comes on the radio.
if i feel like a tenor that day, well there's the tenor line. sounding soprano? there it is too...i've memorized most of the alto lines. and of course it has all the solos!
binding has held up well over the years.

The Messiah An Oratorio Complete Vocal Score is an excellent book for vocal singers. I thought I had it but I didn't.
Excelent Arranging from Orchestra to Piano January 6, 2009 Z. Lucia (CA, USA) This edition is wonderful for the piano arrangement, it sounds just like the CD. The music is not arranged simply at all, which is a rare find.
My only complaint is the binding is a bit difficult to work with, I have to hold it open with two other books, which makes page turning difficult.
All in all, it's a very good arrangement and wonderful to play!
Messiah Score December 1, 2008 Thomas H. Weatherell (Florida) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The score arrived before estimated arrival and was as advertised. The condition of the book was excellent, I could not have asked for more. Another great deal from amazon.
Messiah vocal score November 30, 2008 Valerie H. Brown (MOAB, UT United States) This was exactly what I needed to participate in my community choir
performance of the Messiah.
