Customer Reviews: review of Fadem - Behavioral Science in Medicine May 22, 2009 Yonatan Faiwiszewski well this book is required reading for my neuroscience/psychiatry class. doesnt give me too much leeway in deciding whether or not i want to buy it. fortunately for me, its well written, to the point, and occiasionally entertaining (did you know alcohol is good for you? i thought that maens like one glass of wine with dinner two or three times a week. i was wrong - it means 4+ drinks 4+ nights a week. thats a lot of drinking.) anyway it probably varies from medical school to medical school, but since fadem is my professor for this course, the topics highlited in the book are exactly what is stressed on the exams. hopefully that extends in general at other medical schools since she also writes for the NBME and so what she thinks is important *should* also be considered important by the NBME and so by other medical schools as well.
An amazing and comprehensive book March 30, 2008 Scott Bussell (Berkeley, CA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I absolutely love this book. It does a great job integrating psychology, psychiatry and behavioral science and biostats, and epi. Best of all it is written by the same author as BRS behavioral sciences and high yield behavior science. Worth the extra 100 pages of reading.
