Try this book FIRST! October 16, 2009 Jim (Redondo Beach) Finally, a book on VBA that even I can understand. This one truly starts at the beginning unlike other books, and I tried a couple of them. Recommend this book first before you use the others, (unless you are not a true beginner).
Note: This is mostly for Office 2000 thru 2003, there is another book for Office 2007.
Information easy to find! September 11, 2009 Irina Ramos (Baltimore, MD) Great format that makes the search easy and fast. Great for beginners but also for advanced users that want to have an useful tool handy. I strongly recommend.
Excellent, highly readable book September 2, 2009 Izel Niyage (New York, NY) I had to learn VBA in a short amount of time because of a project at work, and this book did the job! Unlike a lot of other programming books, this book is highly accessible and builds up at the right pace, so that nowhere in the book you wonder how the leap was made. Since I was on a time constraint, I was able to read around 75% of the book (without getting bored) and play around with some of the sample coding in 4 days before I returned to work and I was able to hit the ground running. Of course, it takes some practice even after reading it to be a "fluent" coder, but the point is the book teaches you how to think about VBA by explaining the concept of 'object hierarchy' so that when you don't know how to do something, you know exactly where to look for it and how to figure it out. I constantly went back to it until I was confident enough to tackle complicated macros on my own and I couldn't believe the transformation - in two weeks I went from "never seen VBA in my life before" to a solid coder! Highly recommended if you want to write powerful macros in no time.
Excellent book for dummies July 13, 2009 Madhuker A. Mehta (Raleigh, NC) I enjoyed reading the book and learned several tricks. Right after that, I was able to take a big macro developed by some one else and enhanced the macro to meet current needs of the project.
Awesome book June 13, 2009 J. Nieves (NJ, USA) Book is amazing. Allowed me to create advanced macros and ease the work load at my career. Excellent book...
