Helped refresh my memory but terrible with teaching October 16, 2009 Daniel Torelli This book was only good for concepts I already remembered how to do. There was some new stuff that I wasn't really sure about and the explanations are terrible. I could not learn from it. However it did serve well to show me a very hard version of what could be on the test and it scared me into thinking the test would be harder than it was, the test seemed easy compared to the book.
Awesome Review Book!!! June 25, 2009 Daniel K. This is a great book for any high school student who wants to score high on the SAT II Math Level 2. I prepared only from this book for about three weeks, and received a 760 on the real SAT Math Level 2. It is evident that this book contains much harder questions than the real thing, but that is just what makes this book so great. The fact of the matter is that when I took the test, I breezed through the harder questions because this Barrons book taught me that the hard questions are easy. This is overall the BEST book to use when preparing for the SAT II Level 2 subject test!!
Only Book I Needed for a 780 May 29, 2009 Lauren C. (Tennessee, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ok, I know some people are shooting for perfect 800s, but I was scoring in like the 600s on my first practice test, and with a little help from this book, I achieved a 780. Sure, there are some errors in here, but it's like that with almost all of the prep book companies out there. I believe it's just something you have to get used to.
The questions in this book are definitely tough-- tougher than the real thing, in my opinion. But that just helps you over-prepare and score higher! Kaplan and PR's practice questions seemed a little oversimplified to me. Barron's, in the end, was the way to go. It's the perfect size too, neither too big nor too small.
Definitely Not Worth It May 25, 2009 D. Crockett (North Carolina) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is filled with mistakes on almost any page. Unless you have already mastered Pre-Cal material, this book could really screw you over in your test preparation. Had I not already been familiar with a majority of the topics, I may not have caught all of the mistakes I did.
If you are taking this Subject Test, and you need a good review for it, please do not purchase Barron's. I made that mistake, and I wish you wouldn't do the same.
Good review but tests stink April 25, 2009 X. J. Keenan 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I took a practice test 3 weeks before the actually subject test and i scored a 550. I was extremely surprised and i reviewed all the material frantically. Then 1 week before the actually test, i took an exam from the CollegeBoard All Subject SAT Book and scored a 800.
Overall, the book has great review but the tests are totally inaccurate. My main problem on the Barron Practice tests were time management, so if you do get this book, I recommend taking some of the practice tests untimed.
