Greatest Popup Book Ever! November 21, 2009 J. Hirsh I wish I had a book like this when I was growing up. There are so many popups and all of incredibly detailed and lots of fun to look at and play with. My boy is only 2 weeks old, but he'll appreciate this when he's old enough to understand it. Until that time however, Ill enjoy it =)
Dinosaurs walk the earth again October 15, 2009 Eloise H. Hicks (Charlotte, NC) I have never seen such a wonderful presentation of dinosaurs coupled with such detailed written explanations as to what each one was. Each page is packed with multiple 3-D images that come to life when one reads about it. I can hardly wait to give this to my grandson -- and his family.
Exceeded my expectations August 24, 2009 Christina Batten (Rochester, NY USA) If I could give this book 10 stars I would. It's all that and then some.
I was looking for an educational book for my boyfriend's 7 year old that would capture his interest and be an enjoyable book that he'd want to return to again and again. I already knew he loved dinosaurs and so when I stumbled upon this book and read all of the rave reviews I knew that this was what I had been looking for.
The order arrived at the house while I was still in the office so my boyfriend and his son got a head start on it. He txt'd me just to say that both him and his son 'LOVE' it. By the time I had made it home I had learned that they had spent a good part of the afternoon reading through each page and pop-up and had made it about halfways through the book. At first glance I was disapointed. It looked to me from the side profile that there were maybe 6 or 8 pages. After opening this book, all doubt left my mind. There is NOTHING disapointing about this book. The pages are well constructed and heavy, with multiple pop-up's on each page and very detailed/descriptive entries on each dinosaur reviewed. I wish now that I had purchased the entire set because they're so beautifully made but dinosaurs are his thing for now and this met all of my expectations. Definitely a gift worthy item.
Jurassic Pop-Up May 2, 2009 Adrian M. Kleinbergen (Calgary, Canada) Just wanted to say that this is a great book for young and old (although parental guidance is recommended for the little ones as the pop-ups can be fragile) Most pop-up books are limited in page number to accommodate the thickness of each page (due to the layers of folded paper) but this book side-steps that detail by having smaller pop-ups in the corner of most of the pages, increasing the amount of pop-up goodness. Great stylish illustrations make this a real stand-out (or up) among books of this type. I recommend it highly.
Beautiful book April 9, 2009 Jill Campbell May not be the best gift for a toddler because it is delicate but it is a beautiful book filled with dino facts.
