Product Description "I have lost 50 pounds over the last nine months by eating less, moving more, and changing the way I think. I am 62 and look better and feel better and have more energy than in the last 15 years."—Ron T.
" I read the wisdom put forth by Chris and Harry . . . [and] my next physical blew my doctor away. I am 74 and in better shape than when I was 50."—Jack S. "Not a week goes by that I do not utter a silent prayer of thanks that Younger Next Year came into my life. You guys are saving the world one body at a time."—T. G.
Announcing the paperback edition of Younger Next Year, the New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publishers Weekly bestseller, co-written by one of the country’s most prominent internists, Dr. Henry "Harry" Lodge, and his star patient, the 73-year-old Chris Crowley. These are the books that show us how to turn back our biological clocks—how to put off 70% of the normal problems of aging (weakness, sore joints, bad balance) and eliminate 50% of serious illness and injury. The key to the program is found in Harry's Rules: Exercise six days a week. Don't eat crap. Connect and commit to others. There are seven rules all together, based on the latest findings in cell physiology, evolutionary biology, anthropology, and experimental psychology. Dr. Lodge explains how and why they work—and Chris Crowley, who is living proof of their effectiveness (skiing better today, for example, than he did twenty years ago), gives the just-as-essential motivation. Both men and women can become functionally younger every year for the next five to ten years, then continue to live with newfound vitality and pleasure deep into our 80s and beyond.
Book Description Turn back your biological clock. A breakthrough book for men--as much fun to read as it is persuasive--Younger Next Year draws on the very latest science of aging to show how men 50 or older can become functionally younger every year for the next five to ten years, and continue to live like fifty-year-olds until well into their eighties. To enjoy life and be stronger, healthier, and more alert. To stave off 70% of the normal decay associated with aging (weakness, sore joints, apathy), and to eliminate over 50% of all illness and potential injuries. This is the real thing, a program that will work for anyone who decides to apply himself to "Harry's Rules."
Harry is Henry S. Lodge, M.D., a specialist in internal medicine and preventive healthcare. Chris Crowley is Harry's 70-year-old patient who's stronger today (and skiing better) than when he was 40. Together, in alternating chapters that are lively, sometimes outspoken, and always utterly convincing, they spell out Harry's Rules and the science behind them. The rules are deceptively simple: Exercise Six Days a Week. Eat What You Know You Should. Connect to Other People and Commit to Feeling Passionate About Something. The science, simplified and demystified, ranges from the molecular biology of growth and decay to how our bodies and minds evolved (and why they fare so poorly in our sedentary, all-feast no-famine culture). The result is nothing less than a paradigm shift in our view of aging.
Welcome to the next third of your life--train for it, and you'll have a ball.

Younger Next Year: Live Strong, Fit, and SexyUntil You're 80 and Beyond October 8, 2009 John Cowan (Auckland New Zealand) This is an amazing book full of good sense and very humorous and easily readable. Every time you read it you find new ideas and are re-inspired. I can honestly say I am fitter now at 65 than I was at 50 and enjoying the program as well. John, Auckland New Zealand
Life changing. Gives old fart hope. September 24, 2009 John S. Cohoat I read this book almost a year ago and it has changed the way I view the next part of my life. I'm following most of what Chris recommends and it has made a great difference in my life. I've recommended the book to several friends and have given it to many, including my wife (Younger Next Year for Women). This is really different from anything I've ever read. Very entertaining style. Quick read.
Aging is better than I thought September 18, 2009 Peter P. Bud This book changed my perspective about the aging process. The lessons it teaches are valuable towards maintaining an active lifestyle beyond what you might be expecting.
Perfect Gift for a recently retired relative September 14, 2009 Sandman (USA) Full of easy to follow lifestyle advice; basically helping plan and implement some very basic, but key, daily habits.
I'm not 50 just yet, and bought it as a gift, but my few-minutes of skimming turned into an evening of engrossed reading through most of the book. I have already made a couple of what I believe will be profitable decisions to change some of my less-than-healthy tendencies to grab and eat starchy simple-sugar laden foods, and integrate more than a few healthy habits into my routine, starting with my local farmer's market and plans for an easy pot garden. We've already begun setting aside a slice of time before dinner to get out for some intense walking or a bike ride - and that's all the first week, and I'm giving the book away...may have to grab another copy. ;)
Truly 'Younger next year' September 12, 2009 cinnabar (Arizona) I'm 60 years old and love this book. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be 'younger next year'. If you will do what they say and stay with it, it can work wonders in your life too. I plan on buying more and giving them as gifts!
