Product Description
Even the most die hard of motorcyclists can't ride--or work on--their bikes all the time. So in those moments away from that precious Triumph, Suzuki, or Harley, Cycle World columnist and writer Peter Egan comes to the rescue--taking all kinds of riders along with him on his journeys. Part self-effacing humor, part philosophy, part nostalgia, Egan's pieces remind us not only of all that matters in the motorcycle world, but in the world at large. In Leanings 2, more of his writing (four features and 95 columns) is collected into one volume, giving readers another taste of his best work. From a trip down the Mississippi to find the grave of blues artist Robert Johnson to rearranging his garage for optimal motorcycle ikebana, Peter Egan's stories hit home with all of us who define our good times with motorcycles. To get his view on how much your motorcycle habit really costs, which rock 'n' roll artists exemplify which bikes, the fine art of carrying motorcycle gear, and much more, crack open this book. It is for everyone who rides a motorcycle--and who has a soul.

Great read January 30, 2010 2 wheel afficianado (PHX, AZ, USA) I loved Leanings 1 and 2, my only disappointment is that there is no 3. I'd highly reccomend this book to anyone interested in motorcycles and motorcycle travel.
If Egan didn't exist, we'd have to invent him! :-) September 18, 2009 J. Riley (Pittsford, NY) For an avid motorcyclist, not nesessarily a biker, this makes wonderful reading. Egan thinks and reminisces like we do. Have read both "Leanings" books now and want to find more. He's nostalgic, incredibly understanding of everything motorcycle.
I'm sure I've read all of his CW columns over the years, but was great to relive them.
Egan is awesome January 22, 2009 Hebert Liebhaber (NY State) Peter Egan is easily my favorite motorcycle writer. I have always enjoyed his style, variety of topics and his ability to connect. If you ride and have a passion for motorcycling (not just parking and detailing)then you should read everything Mr. Egan has to offer. I look forward every month to his column in Cycle World which is what these books are: a compliation of his Cycle world articles and both of these books make for exceptional winter reading. Thanks for many years of exceptional writing Mr. Egan!
Collection nof columns by an outstanding moto-journalist July 4, 2007 Ronald J. Santos A must for fans of Peter Egan.
I always read his column first when I get my Cycle World. If you love motorcycles, give this book a read.
Proficient Motorcycling book by David Hough March 17, 2007 Kenneth R. Thompson (Southeastern New Mexico) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I already own a copy of this book, as well as it's companion. I think so highly of them that I have ordered this copy to be used as a gift/prize at an upcoming motorcycle club gathering. Every motorcyclist should read and study this book. I try to re-read it a couple times a year. I'm still learning things from it, and being reminded again of others, all of which are very important and valuable information to me. I've been riding for about 40 years, and this is the most useful and worthwhile motorcycle book I own!
