Product Description Every day we face the challenge of persuading others to do what we want. But what makes people say yes to our requests? Persuasion is not only an art, it is also a science, and researchers who study it have uncovered a series of hidden rules for moving people in your direction. Based on more than sixty years of research into the psychology of persuasion, Yes! reveals fifty simple but remarkably effective strategies that will make you much more persuasive at work and in your personal life, too.
Cowritten by the world's most quoted expert on influence, Professor Robert Cialdini, Yes! presents dozens of surprising discoveries from the science of persuasion in short, enjoyable, and insightful chapters that you can apply immediately to become a more effective persuader. The findings presented in Yes! will steer you away from common pitfalls while empowering you with little-known but proven wisdom.
Whether you are in advertising, marketing, management, or sales, or just curious about how to be more influential in everyday life, Yes! shows how making small, scientifically proven changes to your approach can have a dramatic effect on your persuasive powers.

Yes!: 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to Be Persuasive January 30, 2010 Rick Morehouse (Scottsbluff, NE) Overall a very useful, practical guide to direct others into agreement. It seemed to be somewhat of an expansion of Dr. Cialdini's "Influence" work. Enjoyable, educational, and entertaining.
One of the Best in the Genre January 7, 2010 Stephen D. Palmer (Round Rock, Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a marketing consultant and writer I read every persuasion book I can get my hands on. This is one of the most useful in the field that I've ever read.
I particularly appreciate the formatting. Each chapter begins with a scientific case study, followed by the relevant conclusions drawn from the study, then completed with ways the conclusions can be applied in a variety of circumstances. The effect on me was to spark tons of ideas for my clients.
The brief, yet concentrated chapters make for easy and engaging reading. I read the book the first time in one sitting, and not once did my attention wander. The formatting also means that you don't have to read the chapters sequentially -- you can open up to any chapter and get valuable, stand-alone content.
The most beneficial aspect of the book is the scientific research. Contrary to many other books in the field, you can feel comfortable with the empirical, rather than subjective, approach.
I've added this book to the core books on persuasion that I reference constantly.
Persuasive proof of persuasion January 7, 2010 Craig Leaney (Brisbane, Australia) I purchased the book and after reading it completely, loaned it to one of my clients and never saw it again (they wont return it!). I decided to invest in the audio and every time I listen to it I get another great idea for myself and quite often for one of my clients. They are always amazed at how obvious and simple the strategies are and the well above average success rate on implementation has been consistently high.
As a source of inspiration this has easily been the best investment I have ever made! Craig Leaney

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R7YZNTUEEQEAO I came into reading Yes!: 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to Be Persuasive with some prejudice, because Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion (Collins Business Essentials) is my favorite business book.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed Yes! and it particularly liked how I could knock out the chapters when I had a spare few minutes here and there.
Cheesy writing but very good, scientifically-sound advice November 26, 2009 resi5 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Most self-help books on social influence, persuasion, leadership and marketing cite almost no high-quality research. Not so with this book. It delivers on the promise embedded in the title.
If you can get past all the annoying puns and occasionally dumbed-down explanations, this book will teach you a lot about how to be more persuasive while maintaining your most important relationships.
